mechanical keyboard for gaming is meh.

Cherry blacks or reds disagree with you.

Going to buy a Razer Abyssus this week, together with a Zowie G-TF and a new mouse bungee.

Just don’t know what keyboard to buy, I like mechanical, but I have no PS/2 on my laptop.

Well I moved from MX518 to SteelSeries Ikari and it feels awesome. Best mouse I’ve tried so far. Imo just try different ones in stores or at your friends place. All the new ones pretty much have the same specs, but what matters is how it feels in your hand.

LTG.

MX518 all-the-way, i had Mionix Saiph 3200 between my first and newest MX518. I think i will never change from this.

As for keyboards, just get a mechanical one. I recommend Steelseries 6Gv2.

As for SS Ikari, i had it for 2 weeks and imo it’s an RTS mouse.

I thought firmware updates fixed the problems with the S3888 sensor in the 3.5g Deathadder? Last time I checked, the two sensors perform pretty much identically now.

They fixed the positive acceleration, but the issue still exists (sensor related, can’t be fixed with firmware).

I’m not talking about n-key rollover, I’m talking about polling the device vs the device sending data without a prompt by the OS. Response times are significantly more consistent than with USB keyboards, especially when using the default Windows polling rate.

Still works with USB->PS/2 converter.

DeathAdder V1 is still the best mouse at the moment. As for keyboards, just get something a PS/2 interface (NOT USB with a PS/2 adapter… that would defeat the point), keyboard is all about what you want in terms of shape and size (of course, the same applies to a mouse, but the sensor is important too).

Yo Chris +1 for that also a question, what if my DeathAdder 3G breaks? Cause I doubt it’s easy to get another.. what would you recommend? Razer Abyssus or so? Maybe even Steelseries Kinzu(heard it recommended a few times)?

Been using Razer Lycosa + Logitech G5 for many years (too many? -> http://i.imgur.com/My7gS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Uqi3C.jpg. Best combination IMO.

Just got my Filco FKBN104M/EB with Cherry Browns and full nkro (using usb->ps/2 adapter). I love it already. Haven’t played games with it yet, but it feels so nice. The tactile bump is there and very nice for typing (it types so much better than my Logitech Illuminated Keyboard, which I got because I found it so much better than rubber dome keyboards such as the g15), but its not that heavy that it would interfere with gaming. It also looks sexy (how can people buy g15’s and such).
