Pushing in to last (any map!)

is a bitch. for my team atleast. if we didn’t completely roll them on 2nd or mid, I would say we fail more than 50% of our attacks on last – specifically badlands and gully, though gully is expected to be hard to push last

Watch some demos of people winning lasts in higher teams, or even teams of your own level, then apply the same ideas and tactics to your own team, and generally, practice will win out over all of this :)

Have a plan, decide who is getting the uber. Dont try to uber more than 2 people in if you dont have uber advantage as it wont last long enough.

Get your targets right, if the medic is nearing uber, kill him first, if not kill the demo first otherwise demo second, he is the only class that can effectively defend a point without standing on it so go out of your way to kill him dont waste too many rockets trying to kill scouts just make sure they know you have seen them and let your scouts deal with them.

Get your demoman to sticky the point while your team stands on it, this will force them onto the stickys. Pain train sollys can help this tactic

If all else fails, spy decloak on last can often sneak a cap if noone is standing on last.

Main thing is picking your targets correctly and forcing them onto the point.

Yesterday we waited 5 minutes until our Sniper got a pick. Maybe wanna try that too, needs a bit of discipline to not push in, but hey – it paid out :)

To be honest, if both teams have uber we dont expect, or really try, to cap the point on the initial push. Force uber, get out, wait a few seconds and then go back in. Otherwise go sniper/spy for a pick before pushing.

Defending last is easy if you’re organised and have uber, it’s supposed to be hard to cap, it’s last!
