Hi,
After just over a weekends work I can now officially post up a new version of fastlane called cp_fastlanepro (i know shit name but the other guy stole mine ;p) – after looking at the other version in which they had moved the capture point upstairs Me and Dave from Mafia believed that it wasn’t really effective. So we decided to work together to give the community what they wanted, so after asking around finding out input from a lot of guys I went ahead and began working on it. A list of changes that have been made;

* Spawn have been slightly redesigned with the entrances moved back from the capture point but the middle wall still remaining where it was initially.
* Health cabinets have been moved to more appropriate areas so that people cant just stand in spawn and spam last.
* Boxes have been added to the top corridor to aid the defensive team.
* Lighting has been improved within the last point.
* The Steps on last are now flush against the wall to improve splash damage.
* Glitches in the room where the healthpacks were contained where the player cud get stuck have been removed.
* On middle the metal plate has been rotated 180 degrees so that middle is idential and both teams scouts can now double jump up on cp3.
* Spawn times have been increase by around 3 – 5 seconds for both teams. After some playtesting this can be easily adjusted, I have inititally set this figure as a test to see how the map now plays out.

There are also so other fixes but i cant remember them atm :D Hopefully the community can take this on board and run with it as I personally believe it adds a great deal to the map. I will be looking for clans to hopefully add this to servers and just playtest it too see how it plays out and hopefully send some feedback. Also if dunc or weqo or any other members of the admin staff over at the pickup channel and invite pickup channel would like this there by all means take it.

congrats spnce,

i think the additions will be welcomed by the tf2 community, but theres no real way of testing this until we have some form of extensive playtesting/pcw’s which is where Wlv’s idea would be winner winner chicken dinner!

Its nice to know that there are people actively changing TF2 for the better!

Me and spnce have tried to do as much as we can with our limited mapping skills :P Hopefully with playtesting, we can take into account any feedback, and hope everyone thinks it’s a good fix!

I like what you did with the last CP if I’m looking at the screens. Will need some playtesting indeed, but with the right spawntimes and this kind of adjustments, Fastlane will soon be less crap! :D

I’d have recommended naming them b1, b2 etc until you’re sure that it’s all worked out before releasing the proper version with the proper name, rather than all these name changes that make it seem bad. downloading now, will have a look. :D

EDIT:

Also, on Blu’s 2nd point, the top balcony type thing, there’s a random window floating in mid-air. It’s clear it shouldn’t be there. Also, on the red side in around the same place is a random block of wood. That one might be intentional, I don’t know.
