I am slightly confused, is an upgrade version needing a previous version of Windows, as I have bought a new hard drive and I don’t think I have the Vista (yeah I know) disk, due to a double move, they got lost.

If so, can I upgrade old HDD and then transfer to my new 1 TB one?

Also anyone got a NUS card. :DDD

If you have an upgrade disc and a fresh/clean drive, then you can install it via the ‘double install’ method.

1) Install Windows 7 to the hard drive, via the standard procedure of booting from disc. Choose “Custom Install” at the menu prompt. Follow the installation through but do not enter the serial key at this time.

2) Once you’re at the Windows 7 desktop, you can load the Windows 7 setup from disc and choose the “Upgrade” option. This time when it gets to entering your serial key, input the one that was given to you with your upgrade media.

Now you have a brand new Windows 7 installation :)
