Team Popo!

I was always struggling for a suitable free filehoster which was easy to operate on both sides (uploader/downloader)

I ask you to tell me your favourite filehoster and list some Pro’s and Con’s

I found Dropbox (2Gb/free) very suitable for me!

Pros: 2Gb, any File, private or DL Link, automated Photogalleries, good for teamwork on projects and much more
Cons: Folder (up to 2Gb) must be installed to your pc, laptop, mac, iphone or android (on the phone files only get synced when klicked) (to download stuff nothing is needed :)

To read more about the features go here: https://www.dropbox.com/features

btw.. I dont wanna make any advertising for this service but i really love it and i think everyone should know what sexy stuff is out there :)

Edit: To get 250 mb extra use this link to sign up: http://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTM3NjAzOTU5

Everytime I see someone use something other than Dropbox, Rapidshare or Megaupload I just sigh.

Dropbox is far far better than any of these services, and MegaUpload/Rapidshare are by far the best if you for some reason don’t want to use Dropbox.

(Mind you, I just upload files to my website, which essentially is the same as using Dropbox but better since I have 1TB 8) )

rapidshare/megaupload? hate waiting, hate ads.

http://www.wetransfer.com (downside: flash site, you can’t get a public link, you have to input e-mail adresses, but this is not a random site which will sell your adress)
http://www.filedropper.com (might be slow at times, but its nearly ad free (or is that my hosts file?) and no waiting times.

True, the speed sucks, too.

Dropbox has been around for a while now.. ;)

Mediafire.

200 mb max file size
“Unlimited” storage (according to their FAQ)
Folders
No waiting time
Good uploader

The download pages have some ads crammed into them, but that’s about the only downside.
