Could work if valve supplied some sort of tool that would allow organizations to give the medals, instead of valve giving them themselves. With some kind of digital signature, to ensure that people deservedly get something genuine to show off.

I think the idea is awesome. Not sure whether or not valve would do it, but I know fuckall. What I do know is I got my first hat, bills hat because I preordered L4D2. My first hat cost me £26.99, the fuckers.
