Thursday – Highlander Season 10 High Final: SDCK vs. Budget Toucans

Casino – Ladies and gentleman! We have finally made it to our dramatic climax, the zenith of our division, the apex of aptitude, if you will. Welcome to this final moment of ETF2L’s Season 10 High division where we will ultimately decide the fate of both of our finalists and determine who will get that all important guaranteed spot in the Premiership division and who will have to fight a tough battle for theirs against Feila eSports finanzieren durch.

Our 2 finalists, Super Dickmann's KANNONEN! and Budget Toucans, have fought off a variety of talented teams to ultimately end up here, let’s take a look at how they got on in the semi-finals last week.

Super Dickmann's KANNONEN!

In what was possibly the messiest game of the entire season, Super Dickmann's KANNONEN! fought through long waits, multiple pauses and sudden departures of mains on both sides of the battlefield to romp to a resounding victory, obliterating 4th playoff seed, respectable team in their own right and last season’s playoffs participants,  Team Colonslash: Express on pl_upward and cp_gullywash, never dropping a round. The defeat was so absolute in fact that it may have unfortunately killed the long term staple team of high, who have been going since all the way back in Season 8. Special mention goes to  FrostByte,  Leagle_ and  JustJosh who fought their absolute hardest right to the bitter end in the face of what was ultimately a devastating performance.

With literally the whole of the winning team playing really rather well, it was difficult to pin point a single area of weakness, something that is rather rare even in this enlightened age of the super team. Putting the super in Super Dickmann's KANNONEN! however were  Mayh,  anni and for the short time he was playing, their sub spy  $neaky who despite having not played spy much lately did an extremely good job for his adoptive team on cp_gullywash. Also a mention has to go  Eniere who was true to the medic’s psychopathic tendencies and got 6 kills across the whole game, a massive 0.3 K/D!

Finally, facing off against this mighty machine of murder in the grand final is…

Budget Toucans

Another dominant performance, another grand finalist decided. Whilst they might have had a slightly more difficult game,  Budget Toucans were unshakable (or should that be unflappable), clearly determined to make it to the final. There were strong performances from the vast majority of the team but  Shaggy,  Maccy and  Jelly were especially instrumental in their victory against inVision who tried to cunningly lull the avian achievers into a false sense of security by claiming that their star scout pierzzz- and former NA UGC platinum champion sniper  yosh were not playing. However they did end up playing with  pierzzz- poking fun at the situation by changing his name to “not_pirez” which I suppose is kind of true since Pirez is an old name of his.

Despite this however some brilliant performances from  pierzzz-, yosh and  inVision‘s medic and maincaller  robin were not enough to overcome some less satisfactory performances in other areas of the team and ultimately they succumbed to their opponents in just 2 maps. Although they lost fairly convincingly on pl_badwater, they managed to do a little better on cp_gullywash despite ending up with a 4-2 loss due to some iffy pushes and defense.  inVision‘s fate is currently unknown with  fluo,  Spycy and  yosh leaving the team since they were knocked out. Let’s see if they can come back next season better than ever!

So congratulations to our 2 finalists! Good luck to both of them in the finals this week, hopefully we’ll be in for a really close and intense game.
