Bans and Staff updates, But mostly bans

Unfortunately we have found quite a number of players cheating. Their cases have been processed and they will all be banned for 1 year. A number of teams will see the matches in which they used a cheater affected, in case the player was used in more then 2 matches the team will be placed off-season and not automatically be eligible for possible promotion. Teams can still prove themselves by the usual procedure of mailing screenshots and results to request a higher seeding for season 9.

In addition to those we have found a clan involved in account sharing fraud to get a merc into play. Said merc, the leaders and all involved and players of the team will be banned until season 9 ends. We also found 2 banned cheaters trying to return under a new alias, they will see 1 year added to their ban.

Staff changes
The admin staff page hasn’t been updated for a while and you might have noticed a few faces. Perfect time for a formal newspost introduction on some lovely additions to the ETF2L admin team. First up is Mvp who is helping to support the top end of tf2. Ashkan who has helped us a lot with the highlander challenge and did great work on organizing the mix-up match will also be joining. And of course CanFo who has already proven himself to be a very good and hardworking admin. In addition, Huhy and basH have both joined the Anti-cheat staff to combat the high workload, and cheaters. Lastly, we will have to say goodbye to 
flame who will be leaving the admin staff due to time constraints. Lots of thanks to him for his efforts!

Our most active admin with regards to answering requests is somebody with a certain number of requests answered. He/She is followed by someone with another number of requests answered. Third place is currently held by CanFo with 1029 requests answered.

GJ With the Rhesus case! Every1 knew it and it was only a matter of time. Although it’s sad to see a finnish guy cheating as there hasn’t been(?) and isn’t(?) too many finnish competitive players cheating.
Don’t really know about the other guys but the BeaverN ban is just ridiculous, He was a highskilled L4D player, has lots of L4D fragmovies out and has won or placed high and many LANs.
Really cba with all the shitters that cry whenever somebody with good aim shows up who hasn’t been playing since beta or whatever, people just need to stop mad, stop jealous and get fucking good.

Also, claiming that someone should be good at this game just cuz they played an other game at a high level is pretty fucking retarded. Sure, some people are quick learners and adjust quickly, but saying that they should be highly skilled cuz of that.. I think not. There’s enough players that played different games on higher levels and didn’t succeed in this game, also because it is not solely depended on individual performance. Not to mention .. “Past performance does not guarantee future success”.

Imo you can still be a ‘former’ cheater even if u own at lans. There are skilled people who still wanna shoot better and thus cheat every once in a while. It can be like only couple of important shots per match and those few shots can decide the match. Just responding to aven’s reply and no aven, I wasn’t talking about you. Actually I don’t think u ever even cheated.

Atomic, the opinion of the community is that a player who uses a hack on TF2 pubs, is most likely going to have the capacity to hack in matches as well.
Regarding Helmtu. He downloaded freebie hacks to get his account VAC’d on purpose then quit gaming all together. Said he had major problems in real life and just left it at that. His steam name is ‘hurensohn’ if you check the link ippez posted. Which translates to ‘son of a whore/bitch’… so yeah, probably don’t have to be the brightest bulb in the house to work out what happened. Hope he comes back one day, miss that fucker! Although he’s well and truly shot himself in the foot, if he ever does decide to pick up a mouse and play TF2 again. HELLLLMTUUUUUUUUU

I meet beaver at Dreamhack this winter, he seemed like a nice guy and not the kind of person that cheats. Not sure what to make up of this as I haven’t played with him enough to know if he cheated or not. I just hope you haven’t banned a innocent person.
I got to say i’m a bit skeptic about the ac admins as they flagged both me and marjasin as triggerboters from a stv demo a while back.

Played with and against BeaVerN a ton, even one time I was studying an stv demo of our game and I watched him a lot. In that demo he missed a ton of shots, I’d like to actually see the demo that was sent to AC admins and know why they jumped to that conclusion. I don’t want to discredit the AC team but just seems to be a rash ban based on a few complains by people jealous of an up and coming scout in an up and coming team.

every single ban post is the same, and until admins release details as to what led the bans to come into effect its all just talk, and they would never do that for obvious reasons.

There’s little point applying to be in the AC team unless you have AC admin experience, since there is no training program and you’d just be guessing on what you see rather than making an informed decision.
Although to be fair, I’ve got no idea who in the current AC team (if any) actually have any experience themselves. Certainly in the past there have been people involved who knew pretty much fuck all and made some terrible suggestions.

you can debate that he got banned for aimbotting but you cant debate that he got banned for wallhacking. even if you can wallhack extremely legit admins will still see it when they check multiple demos from you.

There are a couple of very obvious things many people here seem to be missing.
1. “But he wasn’t even that good!”
– Hackers aren’t always retarded, sure, you have people like Banana, who went from utter shit to pretty skilled in the timeframe of a week, after having been shit for months. Not everyone is that stupid. If I were cheating, I’d try damn well to not make it blatantly obvious by consistently meatshotting people all the time. It only takes a couple of kills to turn a match around, made at the right times.
2. “But I’ve seen him play IRL/I’ve watched many demos!:
– Perhaps you only know aimbots like the ones used frequently on CSS pubs. The type that spin around headshotting people through walls, the ones that aim for someone’s head and then kill the person behind them accidentally. A proper aimbot doesn’t work like this, however.
They take a lot of configuration and will only assist the aim, rather than doing all the aiming on their own. These are virtually impossible to spot, even for people with a trained eye. Even then the people using these are usually only caught if they fuck up once. You could spend hours watching a cheater and not realize.
This is also the reason why most people are still shit, even though they cheat. You have to actually be a good player without cheats, to be amazing with cheats.
3. “OMG! High div players are jealous of his progress and want him banned!”
– First off, nobody actually gives a damn. Second, do you honestly think the AC admins ban someone that lightly? Do you think they’re all insecure morons who feed their ego by banning people better than them? This argument is just retarded in every possible way.
4. “But he’s such a nice guy!”
– Not only is unlikely you know that, ‘nice’people have done far worse things in the past. Your e-friend cheated, accept that you can’t perfectly judge people, even if you’ve known them for years.
5. “You don’t have evidence!/ Show us the evidence!”
-No, they do have evidence, and they’re never going to show it to you. Why? Because they realize that all of you idiots would never be able to spot the cheats, especially since you’re incredibly biased. If they would show evidence, nobody would ever get banned again. All cases would just lead to public outrage because people can’t see the cheats.
Everyone should be forced to read this, and hopefully the idiotic comments will no longer be made in the future.

That wouldn’t work for obvious reasons.
1. Most people would still see absolutely nothing wrong with it, even if properly explained.
2. It actually educates the ‘good’ cheaters to become even better, learning from other people’s mistakes.

1.) ESEA doesn’t have an AC team, it has a client, which absolutely sucks and has banned 2 people for realsies (the third was in a cs pug I think, he just plays tf2).
2.) Releasing the demos, even with ticks and explanations, would NOT make people bitch any less- they’d be like SEE THIS GUY IS ABSOLUTELY LEGIT AND U BANNED HIM JUST CUZ U LIEK HIM, JH DOES SHOTS LIEK TAHT ALL TEH TIME
That being said, I think they should do so anyways. Why? It just seems like a fair thing to do, I mean a year is a long fucking time. It’s not like people will get any MORE angry at the AC team; if they’re just seen as mean and tyrannical instead of mean, tyrannical, AND secretive it’s not like any harm’s being done.
Plus, for REALLY obvious cheaters, it would stop the endless parade of “LOOK IM POSTING 15 DEMOS WHERE I DIDNT CHEAT SO I DONT HACK” topics.
