Right off the bat..
You’ll need to have mumble which is used in pickups and in (most) teams.
“Important” IRC channels are:
– #tf.wars – getting wars
– #etf2l – official etf2l channel..
– #pixeltf2.pickup – most active (EU) pickup channel [you’ll need an invite, but almost everyone can be invited]
I highly suggest you watch shirke’s stream of highlevel pcws (or archive) here: http://www.justin.tv/shrike410 the you can also hear the comms of the team, which is very helpful.
Other then that, start off by downloading some demos (note that PoV demos change your settings! so you better backup) to learn the positions.
As I said before, if you need anything else just add me on steam and I’ll help you with it.

hey guys thanks for all the comments, even if the game is ‘dieing’ at least the community is more together and people are helpful, on cod4 there are only a few people that would give up time to help a new player.

I really dont think tf2 is dieing, despite the idiots who say it is. I’ve seen, “tf2 is dead”, comments since I registered here, and that was 646 days ago, so dont pay any attention.
Multiplay offering a minimum of 5 grand to the winners of the tf2 i43 tournament doesn’t sound like a dead scene to me!

yeah well the cod4 scene is getting really bad, if your bad and you improve you get accused of hacking, if your a good you get accused of hacking and it gets stupid and there are people trying to keep it up by organizing new events and other things.

If you don’t think TF2 is dying Monkeh, you’re pretty blind to facts…
Saying it 600 days ago, even a year ago was stupid, all over people getting mad about ‘hats’. Splitting the league between three entities and three separate groups (vanilla, cinnamon, “i-don’t-care”) is a clear reason to believe it is dying.
TF2 lives as long as new people come in like the guy who made this thread.
