yep, it writes a tick-number(when you do a killstreak) into the killstreaks.txt

When i go to download it it says “you must be logged in to download this file” but i cannot see anywhere to make an account.

nice, it’s downloaded but i made an addons in the “tf” bit then copied the file across but in the tf2 consol, when i type in the commands like “prec_mode 2” it says it dosn’t know the command.

2009 = 09, -2 chars
maps with two first and last char retained as well as anything before the first _:
cp_granary = cp_gry = -4 chars
cp_gravelpit = cp_grt = -6 chars
cp_badlands = cp_bas = -5 chars
cp_freight = cp_frt = -4 chars
ctf_turbine = ctf_tue = -4 chars

On average, 6-8 characters stripped, enough to fit team-names and easy to deduct. Isn’t teamnames max 4 chars? Even if they are not (but I believe they are), you could strip them after 4 to give a maximum increase of 8.

To be honest, if I were doing this, I’d make a filemask variable where the enduser can set things like %Y for 2010, %y for 10, %D, %d, %M, %m, %TEAM1, %TEAM2 etc.. They are pretty self explanatory and would end up for example:

prec_savename “%y-%D-%TEAM1_%TEAM2_%m”
