If the Pyro is looking at you, especially if they call Spy, say that it is you
This is for a couple of reasons, the main being to save time and allowing him to look out for threats, and also to save the Pyro some ammo

clutters comms so much. just shoot once or something.

If the class you killed is a Spy, say the location you killed them in as well
This is on the offchance that they are using the dead ringer, and is not actually dead – this may stop your combo from walking in and being backstabbed because they thought the Spy was down

Or don’t say you killed him when you arent sure its a dead ringer or not.

If you change your loadout let the team know
This is so that they are aware of what you are using, so for example if you’re a Scout and you change from the Winger to the Milk, they can work off of this, or if you’re a Pyro they know how much damage afterburn will deal, and if you can flare the sniper or not

cluttering comms as fuck.

If a class takes more than 60 damage, announce it like this: ” took 87″

round up or down, “eightyseven” is too long imo. just call “eighty” or “ninety”, whatever floats your boat.

Sniper sightlines
Call these out, please, it will save your Medic from just blundering out into the open to get picked like an orange on a tree

shouldnt the medic know sightlines?

If a class kills you, announce where, by who and how much health they have

pls no. only do this when it could open an opportunity to your team.

When you die, announce respawn times
This is so people know when you will be back, so announce “Back up in 10” “Back up in 5” and when you respawn “On my way”, so people know when to anticipate your return

clustering comms as hell.

If a class takes a reflected item
If a class takes a reflected item announce it like so ” too a reflected “, this means that people know if they took a mini-crit rocket, or if the combo is covered in milk etc.

pls no, just say “class took 100” or “class is pissed” or something. dont make it too complicated.

Pay attention to the calls, you’re a massive ♥♥♥♥ing target so people will focus you – above all LISTEN TO YOUR MEDIC

as a kinda heavy main i’d say instead: “make your medic listen to you” B-)

Your minigun
Say which one you are using, as the Tomislav means you will be on the move a lot, however the Natascha means your Sniper will have an easier job

I don’t understand this at all.

Uber percentages
Keep your team updated on what percent you have, I suggest the folllowing: 0%, 20%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99%, 100%

is this a joke?

PRO-TIP – Body shot kill the Medic at any opportunity, it not only kills them but makes them angry too, making them play worse – bonus if you taunt after doing so

is this a pub guide?

In setup time, announce enemy loadouts
This is so there are no surprises, so for example if the Pyro is running phlog your team won’t be caught off guard – announce them in this order, cutting short if needed: Medic, Engineer, Sniper, Heavy, Spy, Pyro, Scout, Soldier, Demo then the Medic again

pls, don’t do this. just check for medigun, direct hit and whatever else looks different. dont announce it. just announce it when it’s unusual.

Soooo….overall most of your points can be put together into: Call damage, call sniper and spy, call kills.

Wouldn’t recommend this guide to new players tbh.

Just say spy dead or spy DR’d. You should be able to tell whether or not a spy has activated his DR or not once you’ve progressed beyond Open. People should know how to play when a spy is behind them and shouldn’t be chasing spies anyway, especially if he’s on DR you’re not going to be able to kill him until he comes to you, so the location of his DR isn’t important.

Don’t do this, it’s super annoying and you can just hit E to let your medic know you want heals. You should also already know if you are deserving of heals at that moment and position yourself appropriately (e.g. if you are a scout and the combo is still fighting, you are not a priority so go pick up a healthpack) clustering comms with “IM WEAK. HEEEEAALLL MEEEE” and hanging around the medic while at low health is the most annoying thing you could do.

Agree with pretty much everything Aztebumm said too. There’s just a lot of bad comms in that guide.

Uber percentages

I would say that you should call your uber percentage as often as possible, within reason. For example calling 80% announcing that you are going to rotate and kritz immediately or something makes sense, if you’re on 60% and even ubers and you already called your percentage and advantage when you were at 40% or something, then its a bit stupid. Basically just common sense though which is why a guide with arbitrary things to call doesn’t make sense to me.

Actually you should call the seconds till 100% uber instead of calling arbitrary procents. Helps your team to sync up better when you have something concrete to grasp on.

yeah that’s something I really prefer also, but again, its not a science or anything, just common sense.

Spawn – call which team has the advantage and how much. Call 75% or when they have it [whichever comes first] At 75% the flank should rotate to get buffs [if you will push with it]
And at 90% make sure everyone knows what you plan to do with the uber.
