That should be fine to run both TF2 and L4D2, and games that have higher requirements than that, as long as you don’t run at a massive resolution. No point in 8GB of RAM, though, drop it to 4, and if you must spend the same amount just get some RAM with better timings/clock.

£29 PSU is very suspicious. Get a better one, or get more wattage. Don’t skimp on the PSU or you will pay for it.

i run at 1024 x 768, i clicked on 8 GB as i’m doing graphics editing in college and thought i might need more memory for photo shop and rendering images, i just dropped it to 4GB and it now costs 695 quid =] inc VAT

Unless you’re doing something ridiculously large you will never use up 8, not to mention the more RAM you have the less you can OC (if you want to do that).

I edited my post to include a bit about the PSU, I’d suggest you read that too.

my pc is a very similar spec.

i5 750 2.6 ghz
4gb ram
ati 4850 512
and pretty much all the same shit you got bundled in there

using chris dx9 frames = 120 no drops
standard graphics high settings 50-100fps

basically 8 gb ram is pointless doubt tf2 would ever need to use that :P

Yup I’ve got the same thing too (i5-750, 5770, 4gb 1333mhz) . Just stick to the 4gb of ram and get a better PSU at least 500 watts I’d suggest. In Chris’s dx9 cfg I drop below 120fps on obsucre and 24+ person pubs. On his best quality dx 8 I have zero drops below 120fps. Also if your that kind’ve of person the i5 is highly overclockable, if you plan to do that you definately need a better than stock heat sink and a real ~600w PSU.
