Ati tray tools

I want to do the lod bitmap thing with ati tray tools but it does a wierd crash everytime i run it. screen freezes then goes to a pixelated mass of all types of colours. I would get a picture but i dont want to risk it again.
My specs are:
Running windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz
2 x 2GB DDR3 1333Mhz
1TB 3.5″ 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB
750w ATX Power Supply
