Durr. The two films that I think of off the top of my hat would be American History X and The Hangover. Oh and Le Notti Del Terrore!

Once, its an amateur film written and directed by Glen Hansard, who also stars as one of the main characters. Sort of a musical in that it has a lot of great music in it, but theres not as much singing in it as other musicals and no LETS-ALL-SPONTANIOUSLY-START-SINGING-AND-DANCING scenes, just the characters singing subtly cut into it.
If you have a romantic streak in you, I definitely suggest watching it. :)
