type -textmode in your launch options and it’ll put less of a load on your CPU and RAM!

it achieves the same effect if you idled alt tabbed out. It doesnt really reduce RAM usage, my hl2.exe is still 700-800mb.
Task Manager only takes into account the work done by your CPU, not your whole PC. As theres no directX output this way, you’ll be using a lot less strain on your PC as a whole.
But idling is still pointless anyway so who cares.

i use -noshaderapi and got about 300mb and almost no gpu and cpu usage :)
but still no drop :)
