DeutschLAN 2016: Teams, Schedule and more!

Insomnia 58 was a feast for every Team Fortress 2 lover out there. Now it is time to move on… On to another LAN! The one, the only: DeutschLAN 2016!

First up: The Teams

The following teams will be attending LAN and compete for the DeutschLAN championship (not in order of seeding):

• SDCK LAN
• Team Nein!
• Strong Opinions
• Danke Fler
• Iro and 8
• Fair Enough LAN
• Here for the Beer
• LANpander
  

These 10 teams will be playing in two groups of five teams each in a Round-Robin format. The first two of each group advance to a single elimination knockout stage. Teams that have been knocked out will be playing the equal seat of the opposing group in a game for 5th, 7th and 9th place respectively.

The Bronze Match will take place Saturday at 21:00. 
The Grand Final will be held on Sunday at 11:00

Rules and whitelist

Thanks to our friends from whitelist.tf we have our own preset for DeutschLAN 2016. Check out whitelist.tf/deutschlan_2016 for the whole list of banned items (whitelist similar to HL Season 10)

As for the rules, the maps will be played in an ETF2L-style format, which means that:

– Stopwatch is to be played as a BO3 (ADDA). If teams cannot agree who should attack/defend in the 3rd round, they will have a 1v1 Heavy Fist Fight.
– King of the Hill is to be played as a BO5 (first to 3 won rounds).
– 5cp is to be played until windifference 5 or whoever wins after 30 minutes. If the teams are tied after 30 minutes, a Golden Cap round has to be played.

Scoring will work exactly as you know it from ETF2L regular Seasons.

Map picks for playoffs:
Map picks for the Best-of-3 matches matches will be decided using the Map Elimination System according to the ETF2L General rules. Only maps that were used in the group stages are eligible to be picked in the playoffs and placement games.
In case of two evenly seeded teams, there will be a real life 1v1 BO5 Rock-Paper-Scissors in order to decide who starts with the elminiation.

DeutschLAN 2016 partners

DeutschLAN Fundraiser

Last year we had set up a big crowdfunding project. This year there is no such thing, but on popular demand, we set up a PayPal account that you can donate to. If you wish to donate to DeutschLAN 2016, you can still do so by sending your money to [email protected]. Every Cent will be spent towards the LAN, a shuttleservice for the LAN participants, prizes and prizemoney.
So far we were able to raise 979,06 € thanks to generous donations from (amongst others) Russian Guyovich and CeeJaey.
