Didn’t really know if this was the forum to put it in, but here we go..

Hmm, I’ve made avi’s before from demo’s, but I never had this problem before. I recently updated to SP3, disabled DEP, but I’m getting this problem when I play a demo, type: startmovie bla bla avi, select settings and close the console.

The game crashes and I get this error:
The instruction at “0x00010101” referenced memory at “0x09de17fc.” The memory could not be “written.”

Seeing I find it rather odd that this only happened since I’ve installed SP3 .. anyone any idea? Any help would be appreciated.

Specs:

4 gb ram (3,2 used cuz I use 32-bit windows xp)
4,2 tb hd space.
Intel E8400
ASUS Striker II Formula
Geforce 8800 GT

i thought i saw this error before with a virtual memory error in tf2,
there was a fix for that error on steam forums somewhere.

I dont know for sure though :/

Mine randomly does it sometimes. Most of the time it works, though. :<

your computer knows that you suck cocks!

I’ve had this before.

Would be playing tf2 and it would crash with the same message. I checked all my memory sticks individually and it turned out that one of them was buggered, took that stick out of my pc and havn’t had the problem since. It’s a bitch to lose some RAM but at least it sorted the problem.

Hope this helps

Have you checked free space on local disks where your windows installed and with your steam folder?
