Maps
The map pool has been updated with cp_metalworks, a 5CP map designed for and balanced around league play that has proven to be popular in the North American scene. cp_metalworks_rc5 is the version we will be using for Season 16 matches. The complete map schedule is as follows:

By popular request, The Winger has been added to the list of allowed unlocks.

Cosmetic skins of allowed weapons are also allowed. Items that enable Pyrovision are banned.
Updated Class Limits
In order to disable certain abusive double Engineer and Sniper defense strategies, these classes are now limited to 1 per team. The complete rule reads as follows:
2.1.1 Gamemode: 6on6, Medic, Heavy, Demoman, Engineer and Sniper limit 1, other classes limit 2

Metalworks what in the actual fuck
Sniper and Engineer limits weren’t needed, but it’s not the end of the world.
Metalworks isn’t a great map, but there’s not really anything better out there at the moment, so good job with that choice.
Unlock news is dull :P Does anyone actually want to use the winger? :P
Replace granary with metalworks, don’t just add it.
Either whitelist almost all weapons or stay restrictive but I’m not sure about the Winger. What is popular request and what is it supposed to add to the game?
Forbid 2 sentries, not 2 engies, so you can help build the sentry.
Nah, you don’t ban 2 sentries and leave 2 engineers. That makes things more complicated. The class limit is the easiest way to address the problem, I just wasn’t aware 2 sentries were a problem :P
If you give someone enough time to set up two SG’s, then you probably deserve to lose that push. But still.. those sniper and engineer strats are so situational and rare, that it’s not even worth arguing with the ban either.

The Winger: This weapon deals 15% more damage than the default Pistol, but can only load 5 rounds at a time. It also allows a +25% jump height bonus when active.
It’s the same version of Snakewater as last season, for clarification.
Why would you limit Engi and Sniper to 1? I understand the reason behind engi (well not really, nothing OP about a level 3 sentry) but teamwork is good (helping your engi build), don’t ban teamwork.

The class limits should help now to push last cps more easily (process, snakewater), which is a good thing. But what the hell, why only one new unlock? Be right back in 5 years, when we maybe have 10 new unlocks added :/ Crap

Winger seems a cool unlock. Meh for metalworks, I’d have rather played the last seaons map pool.
New class limit seems ok, but I dont get how 2 snipers could be much of a problem. If the enemy team has 2 snipers then they dont have flank at all or at least much less damage output

Snakewater is being constantly updated at the moment, using g6 would soon become outdated by g7. There could also bugs/problems that could be in g6 that are unknown.
@ Metalworks
It’s a good map, it’s been tested for at least a whole season in NA and while that doesn’t make it a good map, it’s certainly worth a shot, more so than any other map around at the moment. For all the people questioning it, why do you not want to play it? What’s wrong with it?
@ Class Limits
Engineer has been limited to 1 due to the ability to build a level 3 sentry super quickly, with the added ability of a double sentry last hold. With the timelimit 30 still being in place, we feel that strategy is a bit too strong. Sniper has been limited in 1 due to the ability to double snipe from spawn and instantly change class, this is particularly strong on process and snakewater last. It’s not necessarily the strength of the class that made us limit to 1, but the utility to be able to swap instantly and still be very useful.
@ Enforcing class limits
This essentially prevents any cases of “accidentally using 2 heavies”, a topic which causes admins un-neccessary work. There are enough slots left to forward spawn, It helps new players understand the rules. I don’t see any issues with enforcing class limits.

Just to clarify, the OP thing about double Engi is not two sentries, it is that they can build one sentry very quickly!
you dont add a new map that majority of eu scene hasnt played. Its just simply stupid. if you want to try out new maps do what you always used to, one night cup like you did with process and red the peoples feedback based on the map played.

The new version of snakewater should be used. If it isn’t enforced nobody gonna play it. We should support the map makers.

But if the map was still in officially in development, you would use the latest version? Why does that suddenly change when a lot of the bugs & nuances of snakewater have been removed with the current version?
If someone is found to be using a bug with the new snakewater then you can just take action against them? :<
_g6 is much better then the latest official version.
But Ads, since when was a sentry OP? The reason why most people opt to run heavy instead of an engineer is because at least you can move around and dodge part of the spam that’s coming in, resulting in more damage absorbing. A level 3 sentry gets wrecked in about a second.
I have been playing and commentating TF2 for a long time, and I’ve never in my whole ‘career’ encountered a scenario where I’ve thought, “man, this double engineer strat is overpowered”, unless the wrangler is involved… which it isn’t.
I don’t see why the admins always have to take it upon themselves to prevent a particular strategy. Let the teams work out ways to beat it. Just because it might be hard to beat with standard meta classes doesn’t mean it’s too strong. It’s like rather than letting the meta update itself to the most effective strategies, the admins of our leagues change the game to fit the current meta. This game should be a tactical FPS, not just quake with limited guns and capture points. Give some people some damn freedom.
Luckily as I mentioned previously, these strategies are rare and quite insignificant anyway, so these changes aren’t a big deal and not worth ‘appealing’, but I don’t get the theory behind these bans sometimes.
We always build a sentry at last if we have time. It’s better than a heavy because you can spawn heavy the moment your sentry goes down, if you want.
Metalworks to destroy this season
Why is people crying about new maps? I remember when snakewater was added to the map pool the same way as metalworks, i dont remember people crying.
Same with process pretty much. Get your asses together and play the map before shittalking it. I bet 75% of the people saying “oh no metalworks” havent played the map.
As for limits good job. Getting a level 3 sentry fast was op. As for sniper i guess its okay, very rare seeing double snipers anyway.

Double engi building a sentry is OP? What? Maybe 2 sentries is stupid, but what retards need 2 sentries to be able to defend?
If people put up a level 3 sentry fast, just uber the demo into the sentry, it dies in like 3 seconds and then you can focus on cleaning up players.

back on topic, i played metalworks while it was on beta……was decent, but can’t really say much because there weren’t any real tactics going on it back then
never played this current version
but since has already a lot of play (in another tf2 scene, but whatever), can’t be that bad, and 1 season giving in thought might bring better prespective
also ban demoman pls, the class is gamebreaking and overpowered

Not a big fan off the Winger, haven’t ever used it and I’m never going to use it. About the map though have played Metalworks when I was on pubs 24/7 but since then I haven’t really touched the map. I guess it’s going to be either a good choice or a bad choice. One thing I don’t appriciate are the irritating trains. If that wasn’t included it would be so much better. But a good choice depending on the lack of really good maps. And then there is the favorite maps like: Badlands, Snakewater, Gully etc.
