Season 3 Division Seedings

Date August 15, 2008

Today we are publishing our Division Seedings for Season 3. Every team which feels totally over- or underrated should contact us soon and tell us about your requested Division (recommend way: IRC using !admin). You should have some PCW or other results available. All requests will be collected till Sunday, 23:59 CET.

Final Divisions will be published on Monday, 18th August. Map Pick Phase will also start on the same day.

Note: There won’t be any difference between e.g. Div 4a and Div 4f.

    While it could be arqued and reasonably so that DCSB should be in div1 I think more important is that etf2l stays true to their divisional standings and who gets promoted/relegated. (And I still wish there would be a promotional/relegation cup/playoffs after the season to get the right teams in the right divisions)

Okay, i mean the teams after a season will switch players and stuff, but it will be really cool to have qualis. so the 1-2 of div2 in each group have to play against the last 4 of div1, in a single tournament. The best 4 teams in this cup will deserve the slots in div1.

    Play offs and play outs ? I mean, if 4 teams are going to get promoted to div1 then why should we play play offs ? It’s not like 1 team is going to play in the Champions league and they are trying to win the play offs… it’s the same thing

    I didn’t understand half what Scary was saying, but I got the idea that he was comparing the stuff to soccer leagues or so where there are no cups/playoffs after the season. I personally prefer the ice-hockey based leagues better where you have some mini cups and stuff after the season to decide who get’s to stay in the division, who gets promoted and stuff. (Could be around in some soccer leagues too tho, not sure and not in some ice-hockey leagues)

    That would just guarantee the best teams stay in the best divisions and not like 40% of div1 teams will go directly to div2. the Mentality should go like this for the winners of div2 clans – We’ve earned ourselves to get a chance to play in the div1. – And top 4 teams from the 4 worst teams in div1 and 2 best teams from each div2 would compete in a relegation cup. Same thing between div2 and div3, bottom 4 teams in each div2 against 2 best teams in each division in div3 would guarantee the level of competition to stay best at div2 then. And so on, this would just seem reasonable and guaraneteing that the teams will stay/make their way to the right divisions.

In several leagues there are play offs which are being played to define which team is going to play in the Champions League and which in UEFA CUP. My point is the following : Since none of the 4 teams between div 2 a ,b , are going to participate in a league such as Champions League, what’s the reason to create play offs ? All of the 4 teams will get promoted. That’s my whole concept. I hope you won’t get confused :D

    About your thought: the 4 worst from Div 1, playing against the top 4 from Div2 a+b seems fair. I am not aware how does the Ice hockey system works but it seems fair to me. As you said, it will keep the balance between each division. I vote for your idea.
