Anti-Cheat

The following players have been caught cheating by the Anti-Cheat team. They have been banned from ETF2L for one year:

• amelia watson – Cheating
• snowsled – Cheating
• pocky – Aimbot
• shellshock – Aimbot
• 6red – Aimbot
• Antikvnst – Aimbot
• dreamer – ESP
• Dia – Multihack

The following player used an alternate account with the intent of smurfing in Highlander Open #3 and was banned for 3 months:

• BlastFM

The following player used an alternate account to evade their ban. Their ban has been extended for one year:

• milann / hatefiles

League

The following players were involved in a case of non-permitted acquisition of profits and have been banned for their respective durations:

• ELO BANK$$ SWITCH$ – 3 months
• Matthes – 1 month

Demo Bans

The following players failed to provide a requested demo several times. They were banned for their respective durations:

• DaFuQWiZaT – not uploading demos twice – 2 weeks
• MORGENSHTERN – not uploading demos twice – 2 weeks
• 6red – not uploading demos twice – 2 weeks
• princess dvs – not uploading demos twice – 2 weeks
• NeverDieu – not uploading demos twice – 2 weeks
• 31 – not uploading demos three times – 2 months

VAC Bans

The following players have been caught with VAC bans possibly affecting TF2 on their main and/or alternate accounts and have been banned from the league for one year:

Announcing Highlander Season 22!

All the information regarding the coming Season can either be found in this newspost, or will be released shortly!

For tiers we’ll be aiming to run swiss again for Open, Low and Mid. This is still potentially subjected to change depending on the final signup numbers.

Season Schedule

• Signups: August  1st – August  25th 21:00 CEST (Premiership signup deadline is August 19th 21:00 CEST)
• Publishing of Provisional Divisions: August 27th
• Publishing of Final Divisions: August 29th
• Premiership Qualifiers: August 21st – August 30th
• Main Season: August 30th – October 2nd (5 Weeks)
• Playoffs: October 4th – October 23rd

Map pool

Although we won’t be able to cram in a  preseason cup we are considering a map pool change.For this however we want some community input which can be done through the polls down below.

Welcome everyone to the conclusion of the 36th season of ETF2L 6v6.

We hope you enjoyed the matches, and for the teams that made it through, congratulations.

If you find yourself on the list of these teams expect an admin to add you and request your availability. If there is no information given, or it is insufficient, we will have to decide your match dates for you. Keep in mind that we will try and accommodate both teams, but the match date may still vary from your provided days if for example none of the days matches with your opponent’s, but your opponent offered more days than you did. Deadlines listed for the matches are flexible and may be changed in certain situations if admins are contacted about allowing extensions on these.

Looking at the communities response to our scheduling update published yesterday we feel the need to clarify certain topics further as they were not explained thoroughly in the initial post. We will not be leaving you without any competition in the fall of 2020, we apologize if yesterday’s post felt like that would be the case.

Why did we decide to delay season 37?

To open up room for testing a handful of community projects. If we had filled in the open slot with a 6s season there would have been no time for this. Secondly, if we would have scheduled in a season with an appropriate break after season 36 it would have ended around the middle/late December. However as we are hopeful for Copenhagen Games being able to happen in 2021 we want to make sure we have a season that leads up to that event for teams to solidify. The season would have to start late January to match up with that schedule and thus in a best case only leaving slightly more then a month break for playoff participants.

tl;dr We want to be able to test some things community members have been asking for as well as avoid back to back seasons without decent downtime.

A sidenote as well, the nations cup schedule as mentioned is a draft. This event also does not impact other ideas we have for the majority of the 6s playersbase.

What are we trying to plan for the fall of 2020?

We’re currently working out how we exactly want to approach the time frame as there has not being something of this sort within recent history. As referenced in the above a section it will most likely be spent and trying out new things.
A couple of the idea that have been considered but not properly analyzed yet are:

• A number of shorter cups in which things like maps, plugins, promod, whitelist, … changes can be tested. If you have a great idea for a short cup feel free to inform a league admin about your idea.
• A multiple week scout speed/Promod cup: This multiple week spanning cup will gave both the player base and the admin team a better understanding of the impact of these changes on the game. This extra gathered data will help us setup S37, with a ruleset that a majority of the community agrees on.

If these ideas were to fail we will do our best to fill it up with a replacement. This might be a long cup/mini season or something else along the lines. We hope to have more details in the near future so teams can adjust and schedule accordingly.

As you all know the 2020 calendar has had to adapt due to both the CoVid-19 crisis as well as the data loss. This has led us to review our planned schedule for the whole year. Many of you have asked us when the next Highlander season was going to start and whether or not we were going to host the 8th edition of the 6v6 Nations Cup.

Provisional Schedules

Highlander Season 22

Signups: 31st July – 26th August
Premiership Qualifiers: 21st August – 30th August
Final divisions: 29th August
Main Season: 30th August – 2nd October
Playoffs: 4th October – 23rd October

6v6 Nations Cup #8

Captain Application: 25th September – 16th October
Final Groups: 17th October
Group Stage: 1st November – 29th November
Playoffs: 29th November – 18th December

Note: Dates are still subject to change.

As of right now we are planning to have the next 6v6 season after the conclusion of 2020. Our reasoning for this decision is twofold – we wanted the next 6v6 season to occur before Copenhagen LAN and scheduling the seasons this way allows for a break between seasons which enables the league to run cups in the gap between the Highlander and 6v6 seasons.

• 2.2.3. Offensive messages, nicknames and avatars are not welcome:

We do not tolerate offensive team names/nicknames, avatars and messages regardless of where they are posted – this includes (but is not limited to) the forum, match comments, and in-game during official matches. Any form of offensive behavior, including offensive bind spamming in the in-game chat, is not allowed. Admins reserve the right to contact the players involved to have their name changed and will change offensive names on their own if the players are uncooperative. All cases are reviewed individually. Penalties may vary based on the severity of each offense, with any decisions being made at the discretion of the admin team. All circumstances will be taken into account.
