Staff Changes

We are sad to announce that Samus is resigning from her position as Head Anti-Cheat and League Admin.

The Anti-Cheat Staff would like to take this opportunity to thank Samus for her hard work and uninterrupted dedication, volunteering a great amount of time to ensure each case is fully documented and well-structured to reduce the workload for other members. This inspired us to adhere to the high standards she set, and many of her suggestions also improved the way in which we are organised today. She helped raise the efficiency of our staff, from initial report to case verdict while still focusing on the utmost accuracy in her judgements.

We hope she will keep progressing and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Meanwhile, quintosh, who has been helping out the staff for some time now, has officially re-joined our Anti-Cheat team!

Anti-Cheat Applications: Apply Now!

We have open positions for anyone interested in working for a league free from cheaters. Anti-Cheat admins ensure fair competition in the league by analysing submitted evidence for signs of cheats and issuing bans to confirmed cheaters. Submitted evidence is rarely clear-cut – most cases are challenging and involve a fair bit of “forensic work”.

Anti-Cheat staff need to have a good sense of trust and morality, additionally be excited by detective work and technical aspects of the source engine that come with demo viewing and cheats and such. It is also important to have no bias and be respectful of the democratic process on voting.

For trials we would like to put a focus on how much available time for Anti-Cheat work you have as well as you having a good knowledge of the game.

If any other teams are out there that are interested feel free to still sign up. We will look at what the best option is for Premiership within the following season once all signups have concluded.

Welcome everyone to the conclusion of the 22nd season of ETF2L Highlander for Open, Low, Mid, Division 1 and Premiership. As there are still matches to be played for Division 2 tonight their respective playoffs will be added later tonight.

We hope you enjoyed the matches, and for the teams that made it through, congratulations.

All tiers will have playoffs, all playoff matches will be using the Map Elimination system. Note that all dates are estimates and teams are able to negotiate other days by scheduling with their opponents.

If you find yourself on the list of these teams expect an admin to add you and request your availability, if there is no information or insufficient information given we will have to decide your match dates for you. Keep in mind that we will try and accommodate both teams, but the match date may still vary from your provided days, if for example none of the days match with your opponent, but your opponent offered more days than you did. Deadlines listed for the matches are flexible and may be changed in certain situations if admins are contacted about allowing extensions on these.

Prize Pool

Firstly, we’ll be having a prize pool for Season 37’s Premiership Tier. The split will be the following:

• 1st – 500 euros
• 2nd – 300 euros
• 3rd – 200 euros

Season Schedule

• Signups: September 28th – October 15th, 21:00 CET (Premiership signups will close early, on October 11th at 21:00 CEST)
• Publishing of Provisional Divisions: October 15th
• Publishing of Final Divisions: October 17th
• Premiership Qualifiers: October 12th – October 17th
• Main Season: October 18th – December 6th (Roster Lock will be active starting from November 29th, 00:00 CEST)
• Playoffs: December 6th – December 20th

Side Schedule

EssentialsTF will be hosting a Weekend tournament on the 14 and 15th of November. This will fall between week 4 and 5 of the main season. We will avoid scheduling officials on this weekend in particular. More information about their tournament will be posted in the near future on their twitter and teamfortress.tv.

Plugins

The following plugins will be added on in during season 37.

• Removal of Medic Attach Speed – Medics no longer run at the speed of their heal target.
• Winger Jump Bonus only applies when fully deployed – Similarly to the Atomizer, the jump bonus from the Winger will only apply when fully deployed.
• Gunboats Always Apply – Gunboats currently do not apply the damage resistance when shooting enemies. With this plugin enabled they do.
• Projectiles Ignore Teammates – Projectiles consistently pass through teammates.

A plugin to help with the mercy rule is still being looked at but hasn’t been finalized yet. This will get a final updated before the premiership qualifiers start.

Sign-up process

Teams looking into playing in either division 1 or 2 will need to sign up to High tier when signing up for the season. If teams would want to specify to which of these Divisions they want to be placed in, we strongly encourage teams to send in an application to us with the said method below.

Make sure to choose your desired tier when signing up for the season in the sign-up process. If you created a new team, feel free to apply for the tier you believe you deserve you should be in. To prove you are capable of the tier you applied for, we require you to submit screenshots or logs of results from your recent practice matches or tournaments where you scored decent results against teams that play on the level you aim for, send an application to [email protected] (details listed below) with a suitable subject. Emails with subjects like “Hello”, “Hi” or anything else that cannot be identified as a team applying for a tier by mail may be ignored. Teams signing up for the high division are advised to send an email whether they have a preference to either play division 1 or 2. If no email is sent by a team signing up for high they will get placed by admins based on the roster of the team.
