One Night Cup: cp_toxic

On Thursday, July 26 at 20:00 CEST it is again time for anotherone night cup! This is the second one this month!. This time, we will focus on the custom map cp_toxic by UK DarkSlayer. Similarly to the past events it is also possible to enter this cup using a Fun Team which can be setup in the normal way using the page found here. The signed up teams will be divided into skill based brackets of 16.

The current version of cp_toxic is b17 and can be downloaded here. Please note that another version of this map will be released until Thursday which will be the tournament version. You will find the download link in the thread for this map on ETF2L and in another newspost.

The time schedule is as follows:

  • 20.00 CEST, Round of 16: cp_toxic (latest version)
  • 20:45 CEST, Quarter Finals: cp_toxic (latest version)
  • 21:30 CEST, Semi-Finals: cp_toxic (latest version)
  • 22:15 CEST, Final: cp_toxic (latest version)

eXtv Fundraiser Exhibition Matches Round 1: Classic Mixup vs TCM-Gaming

Tonight 21:15 CEST we will see the first of two matches featuring the European top teams European TCM-Gaming and European Epsilon eSports and the winner and runner up of the recently held eXtv tournament to decide which teams get sponsorship to fly over the pond to compete at the insomnia 46 LAN USA Classic Mixup and USA Leviathan Gaming. Both matches will be played as best-of-three series with each team picking single map and playing one map on their home server. The rules will be the same as the i46 tournament which is win difference 5, 30 minute rounds and golden cap round to decide draws. Today the match series starts with European TCM-Gaming and USA Classic Mixup. Is the American soldier legend USA TLR able to roll through the all-star team of TCM consisting of players like Sweden Zebbosai or Finland hymzi? Can the European Soldiers prove their ability to airstrafe? We will be able to answer these questions by watching the game itself because VanillaTV will be casting the match having UK Greg and USA cbear on the microphones.

HLNC Playoffs Round 1 Extension

Since the first playoff round turned out shorter than the following rounds yet contains a lot of high-profile, cast-worthy matches, teams may request an extension until Thursday (included) for this week. Default losses are highly undesirable at this stage, so make use of this extension if your team needs it.

If you must reschedule, please do so well in advance (preferably at least 24 hours) and announce it on your match page as soon as possible to help viewers and casters.

Matches that aren’t played by Friday will be coinflipped.

Staff Updates

After a long period of inactivity Netherlands RaCio decided to give up his active admin post. He will, however, stay a member of the staff as honorary admin. The same applies to Sweden ashkan who recently got promoted to global Steam forum moderator. Thanks to you both, your contributions to the scene in its whole and ETF2L and the highlander game mode in particular have been countless and precious. You are welcome back at any time and we will await you with open arms.

Luckily, we have some new admins to fill some of the gaps. The trial period of England Permzilla and Lithuania emb is hereby over, they are now full members of our staff and will mostly work on our highlander competitions.

We also made some changes to the staff page. The trial admins are now listed as well as honorary admins (inactive but still with admin permissions) and the “Admin Hall of Fame” with admins who made significant contributions to ETF2L.

This should be one of the more even matches in this group. If the winner of this match can take a map or even two off Latvia then they have a good chance of advancing to the playoffs. Turkey have two well known players, Turkey fle. and Turkey ForzaEagLE, but will they be able to bring enough experience to the table to outdo the deadly duo Wales Santa and Wales Mike on soldier for Wales?

    The list was created long before I joined the staff, it is not like we just now decided not to add him or remove him. I also do not know what he did as ETF2L admin, we will think about adding him.

    It’s a pretty short notice for announcing a cup imo, only 4 days.. Some, or even most people have other things to do aswell so it would help if you try to announce those cups a bit more beforehand so people can actually place it in their schedule… :/
