Highlander Season 15 Week 2 & Week 3 Double Header

Date April 8, 2018

Written by Germany Domaytoe

Prepare yourselves, your body, your soul, but most importantly your binds that use up all the rhetorical devices available to a third grader in order to be ready for our double-trouble game coverage tonight!

Week 3: Feila eSports vs. Lucrosa

First of all we have “+2 enthusiasts” Poland Feila eSports slim shady edition battling it out against recently LAN-proven team Sweden Lucrosa who have the pleasure of playing their Week 3 game before their Week 2 game. It has to be seen if this game will prove to be as paradox as the schedule.

Emerging from the depths of Russian strategy books our map tonight will be cp_steel, which has shown to be a battleground that can very likely and tenderly swing both ways. This is due to the fact that brainpower and good rotations prevail over raw and unpolished deathmatch abilities most of the time, which means we will ultimately see which one of these teams has the biggest brain! (or alternatively: the strongest flank, the combo that screws up the least and the best pick classes, …)

Having picked up a few (seven) new players compared to last season, Feila have only had one game so far to show their capabilities and have reigned superior against Russia WASP but did not manage to get the full six points from this fixture. Considering the tight skill gap between the teams this season, every point matters quite a lot in order to reach playoffs.

On the other side of the fixture we have Sweden Lucrosa, who have managed to already play two games in their third week. The results were mixed, as they have won 4-2 against TrinidadTobago Budget Toucans and tied against Germany open_squad in arguably very close (yet very throwable) games so far.

As their main scout Norway Rick May still seems to be on the late search for eggs and integrity just a week after Easter, it will be a new flank member stepping up to the fray not only for tonight but the rest of the season.

Medals, Rule Updates, Staff Changes!

Date April 1, 2018

Medals

Due to the latest Valve update, our medal distribution system has been completely broken. This means that all medals, including the ones from Highlander Season 14 and 6v6 Season 29 will be postponed indefinitely until further notice. We apologize for this inconvenience and will be working as much as possible to fix this issue as soon as possible.

Rule update

After multiple months after the October Pyro update, a multitude of complaints about the class have been reported to us. We’ve discussed options thoroughly as to how to deal with the new changes. At first, we thought banning the broken unlocks would have been sufficient. However, this has obviously not been the case. Therefore we have decided to fall back to the only sensible option at this point in time, which is, with the exception of Highlander, to reduce pyro classlimit to 0. This rule change will come into effect immediately, meaning that no more pyro will be allowed during the season 29 playoffs and in the following seasons.

Staff Changes

Germany DCS has now been a Head Admin for over a year. However, due to lack of motivation and not being able to uphold his responsibilities as a Head Admin his position has been put in jeopardy. With the final nail in the coffin being the fact that his watched anime days do not even come close to fellow Head Admins Belgium Aoshi and Finland BloodisGermany DCS has now decided to step down to the normal League Admin position. Here, he can catch up on the required amount of watched anime per month to reclaim his Head Admin position.

Happy April Fools’ Day.

S29 Upper Bracket Round 1

Date March 22, 2018

Se7en vs wer das liest ist doof

Time flies, as we’re already about to enter the ETF2L season 29 playoffs ! To kick this off, it is Se7en versus wer das liest ist doof in the first round of the upper-bracket.

Now, Se7en are surely going into this as favorites, as they boast both an impressive track record, winning 5-0 and 5-2 in the regular season, and more experienced players. However, WDLID will surely be eager to prove that they are more than a way for stefaan to keep his streak of reaching prem playoffs. The mostly German team has shown real growth this season, the more experienced players like kr4tos, Smirre and of course stefaan were able to share their knowledge with the newcomers to prem, and this is a really cohesive team that Se7en will face. Kaidus and the gang are also facing some potential roster troubles as Thaigrr is running into some issues with ETF2L admins and they do not have a main medic yet, seeds filling up this role currently but he’s not rostered on 7.

Now, Se7en still has a wealth of talent at their disposition, but will their shuffling will hinder them as they are about to face a very motivated team ? Is Thaigrr about to get hunted down by the admins ? Tune in tonight to find out !

Ascent.EU vs. OMNI5.EU

Tonight, we’re looking forward to bringing you Ascent.EU versus OMNI5 EU basketball team in the opening round of the Upper Bracket of ETF2L Season 29’s Premiership Playoffs.

It’s been a season to remember for Ascent.EU. Ombrack’s outfit have dropped just four points and one map throughout the season. Funs, Josh and chris have all played superbly and proved themselves to be electric additions to last season’s Grand Finalists of credu, Ombrack and Elacour, enabling the former top5rocket to replicate and climb above last season’s heroics.

In the other corner, last season’s High winners OMNI5 put in a strong shift to muscle past their opponents and break into Prem playoffs in their debut season in the division. While it’ll be a big ask for them to make it much further, the Prem finals aren’t entirely uncharted territory for the players, with Raptor playing in the playoffs and grand finals of seasons 26 and 27.

How high can Ascent keep rising? Could the OMNI5 underdog leapfrog them to the hoop, or will they simply get airshot out the sky?

Covering all the action on TFTV2 are Connor and DuMmTm with Beater on production.

Season 29: Playoffs & Tiebreaker Scores

Date March 18, 2018

Welcome everyone to the conclusion of the 29th season of ETF2L 6v6 for Open, Low, Mid, Division 2 and, Division 1. Premiership playoffs will be announced once the final games of the regular season have been played and will be updated to this post.

We hope you enjoyed the matches, and for the teams that made it through, congratulations.

All tiers will have playoffs, all playoff matches will be using the Map Elimination system. Note that all dates are estimates and teams are able to negotiate other days by scheduling with their opponents.

If you find yourself on the list of these teams expect an admin to add you and request your availability, if there is no information or insufficient information given we will have to decide your match dates for you. Keep in mind that we will try and accommodate both teams, but the match date may still vary from your provided days, if for example none of the days match with your opponent, but your opponent offered more days than you did. Deadlines listed for the matches are flexible and may be changed in certain situations if admins are contacted about allowing extensions on these.

Schedule

For Division 2, Mid, Low and Open tiers, the schedule for the playoff matches will be the following.

  • Quarter final matches will be played from 18th – 24th March.
  • Semi Finals will be played from 25th – 31st March.
  • Grand Finals will be played from 1st – 8th April.

For Premiership and Division 1 the schedule for the playoff matches will be the following.

  • Upper Bracket Round 1 matches will be played from 18th – 23th March.
  • UBF/LBR1 will be played from 24th – 30th March.
  • LBF will be played from 31st March – 4th April.
  • Grand Finals will be played from 5th – 8th April.

Note: Due to Copenhagen Games LAN happening during these playoffs, the Premiership finals will be extended to 8th of April. Teams may request extensions for their matches to not force teams to play around the time period of the LAN.

Premiership

For Premiership we’re going with 4 teams in the playoffs with double elimination. All matches except the Grand Finals, which will be a BO5 with a one-map advantage for the team winning the upper bracket final, will be played as BO3.

  1. France top5rocket
    • 38 points
  2. European Se7en
    • 36 points
  3. Germany wer das liest ist doof
    • 22 points
  4. SouthAfrica nunya
    • 20 points
  5. Romania Gardienii Fortei Mistice
    • 17 points

Due to the fact that SouthAfrica nunya only has 4 players in their roster, with one of their players not being able to participate in the playoffs, their playoff spot will be given to the next best team, which is Romania Gardienii Fortei Mistice.

Matches:

Upper Bracket Round 1 matches will be played from 18th – 23th March.

Quarter Final 1: France top5rocket vs Romania Gardienii Fortei Mistice
Quarter Final 2: European Se7en vs Germany wer das liest ist doof

Winners of these matches will face off against each other in an Upper Bracket Final match, while the losers of these matches will play against each other in a Lower Bracket Round 1 match.

UBF/LBR1 will be played from 24th – 30th March.

LBF will be played from 31st March – 4th April.

Grand Finals will be played from 5th – 8th April.
