Nations Cup #7: Captain Applications – Updated

This is an update to show you which countries have had captains apply so far and which have had none. In case you are contemplating to apply yourself. So far we have received applications from the following 30 countries:

That’s a potential of 12 additional teams. Keep in mind though, that we only have room to accommodate a total of 32 teams, therefore as always, first come, first served!

The fixtures for the Highlander Season 16 Preseason Cup are now released! The fixtures and tables can be seen within the competition tab in the ribbon. Remember to set your servers to the test whitelist before starting the game, the whitelist can be found here. To change the whitelist on a server running tftrue use the command rcon tftrue_whitelist_id 8988

• Group stage round 1: July 8th 19:00 CEST- pl_upward
• Group stage round 2: July 8th 20:00 CEST- koth_product_rc9
• Group stage round 3: July 8th 21:00 CEST- cp_gullwash_final1

Upward will be played as a bo1 while product and gullywash will be played following the standard league rules.

The Bus Crew vs. the bin BLACK

Today, the bin BLACK is expected to verse The Bus Crew in a match that could set the former to an almost guaranteed playoffs spot. Teams like Ascent.EU and Ora Elektro will be watching this match closely as a Bus Crew win would give decent chances to Ora Elektro to reach playoffs while the same win could put Ascent.EU in the relegation zone.
With a number of seemingly equally strong and experienced players on both teams such as Josh on one side and lukas on the other, the game might be closer than some could expect since both maps played are very well-known and won’t possibly give an edge to one of these teams.
Thus, as the main season ends, the last remaining games will prove to be crucial in the attempt of every team to stay away from the relegation and secure a playoffs spot. To maintain its 4th position, the bin BLACK will have to prove itself once again in this match, but no one can expect The Bus Crew to go down that easily. Nations Cup #7: Announcement

While Season 30 grinds closer to its conclusion it is time for the best players of each country to group up together and prove that their country is the best!

The Cup will feature a Group Stage and a single-elimination Tournament, and will take place throughout July and August. Each country will be represented by one team consisting out of players of the same nationality, led by a Captain chosen through the applications process.

• Group Stage Round 1: 15.07 – 18.07
• Group Stage Round 2: 19.07 – 24.07
• Group Stage Round 3: 25.07 – 29.07
• Tiebreakers: 30.07 – 03.08
• Round of 16: 05.08 – 09.08
• Quarter Finals: 10.08 – 15.08
• Semi Finals: 16.08 – 21.08
• Break for i63: 22.08 – 28.08
• Grand Finals and Bronze Match: 29.08 – 06.09

IMPORTANT! We do encourage teams to make use of their roster of up to 13 players. Mercs will not be allowed! (Although we may be more lenient regarding the verification time.)

Nations Cup #7: Captains Applications

National teams are created and managed by Captains chosen out of submitted applications. Each Captain will pick the best possible roster from among their countrymen and lead their glorious squadron to victory. There are no restrictions on which players you can field in your team, so long as they are of your country’s nationality and are eligible to play in ETF2L. We are not allowing players to change nationalities, if you have previously been connected to a nations cup team, 6v6 or Highlander you are locked to that country and may not play for a different nation. If you have any queries please contact the admin team.

To apply, send an email to [email protected], explaining why you should be your country’s captain and describe your planned national roster. Applicants who have experience leading successful ETF2L teams and a good reputation in the scene will be given priority. This should be self explanatory  but you should include at least your nickname and your ETF2L profile link in the application letter.
Also please use the pre-fix [ETF2L] in your email’s subject, for example [ETF2L] NC7 Captain’s Application Belgium.

Captain Applications will close on Thursday, July 12th at 20:00 CEST. Only approved Captains and their National Teams will be added to the competition. Up to 32 countries can be represented so if we reach that number before the deadline applications will be closed, however if we do not reach 32 teams we may have to reduce numbers to 16.

Nations Cup #7: Maps and Whitelist

The map rotation for group stages will be the following:

• Group Stage round 1:  koth_product_rc9 + cp_process_final
• Group Stage round 2: cp_process_final + cp_gullywash_final1
• Group Stage round 3: cp_gullywash_final1 + koth_product_rc9

For the elimination stages teams will pick and ban their choices from the following maps:

• cp_process_final
• koth_product_rc9
• cp_gullywash_final1
• cp_snakewater_final1
• cp_prolands_b5

Provisional Schedules

As our tradition, every 3 months we have published our method of scheduling, meaning that we will be posting the provisional plans for the following 6 months every 3 months in a newspost. This is the fifth post regarding this and covers the period ranging from approximately 1 July 2018 – 31 December 2018. These posts only cover regular season events and do not cover Nations Cups, Preseason Cups or any other spontaneous or surprise events.
