6v6 Nations Cup Reminder: Schedule Your Matches!

Once again the reminder for all team captains: If you do not want to play your week 2 match on your group’s default day you have to schedule your match on the ETF2L calendar until Sunday, July 22. Once you agree on a scheduled date, it should not be changed (apart from the time that can be rescheduled by a couple of hours to accomodate different timezones).

Highlander Nations Cup Reminder: Playoffs are Live!

The tournament tree for the Highlander Nations Cup Playoffs has been created. All Round 1 matches feature pl_upward in a “Best-of-three” series and need to be played until Tuesday, July 24(included). Please schedule the matches yourselves as soon as you can and let the admin staff know if any problems occur. Default dates for matches with no schedule proposals will be distributed on Saturday.

Germany is one of the few teams that rivals Finland in terms of superstars on their roster, featuring amongst others  basH,  schocky (or stefan) and  Thy*, might they be the ones to turn Winland back into Finland? Maybe, but first they’ll have to get past Netherlands, who have  Exfane,  Demourge and  Skeej on their side, as well as the legendary  Arie.

Russia vs. Romania

Romania might be a small country, boasting only Shampoo,  Alfa and Ghostface (this guy who can not even jump spire, you probably already heard of him) as known players, but upsets have happened before. Conversely Russia is traditionally a strong team – which once again applies here featuring almost all of uV Gaming, Season 10!’s Division 1 winners. On paper this should be an easy game for Russia, but there are always plenty of things to trip over. Will we see Russian dominance or will sheer determination (and a lot of luck) pull through and produce a Romanian victory?

Finland vs. Luxembourg

Staying in the David vs Goliath area, the mighty TF2 giant Finland (or as some people like to call them: Winland) takes on the tiny dwarf Luxembourg! Finland’s lineup is not known yet, but with  Hymzi,  Hocz,  Rebeli and a list of names capable of making 2 premiership teams on their own it will certainly be one of the most capable ones we will see this Nations Cup. Facing them will be Luxembourg who, while not lacking in enthusiasm, can not boast an equally impressive roster. Their most well-known player is long term ETF2L Admin  Netsky (the famous D’n’B and electronica DJ).

Poland counters with a solid Division 2/1 mixture, with  Fassadin as their most well known player.

6v6 Nations Cup Rules Reminder

Due to several circumstances (little time to schedule the week 1 match and some rule changes on short notice), teams have been allowed to reschedule their Week 1 match to any other day in week 1 (which ends on Sunday, July 22).

In Week 2 and 3 rescheduling will not be allowed – once teams agree on a date for their match, admins will make sure they stick to it.

Denmark have a strong team, the core coming from Division 3E winners SdX Gaming RED, with the addition of  quad and  F2, Denmark have a strong team. The Austria roster is fairly unknown, their standout player being wrock from Division 2C winners  vier // red.

The first game for both teams this Nations Cup. Sweden have a strong team with premiership stars such as wltrs, Zebbosai and  Nace, which should be enough to win this match comfortably. However it seems Sweden are running a programme where they are letting pub players play with their national team to promote competitive TF2, last week it was Notch on soldier for the Highlander team, this time someone called ‘TheSucker‘ on medic. Players to note for Scotland are Sheepy who plays for division 2 team   The Spectacular Scott Bakula, and Abunai from smooth criminals (Team Decerto). 6v6 Nations Cup: Rules Update

It seemed not all captains liked the idea of having fixed dates – soon after the tables and default days were announced, some nations immediately got to scheduling matches on other days.

We got the hint… The default days will from now on indicate the default dates in your group if the match is not scheduled by Sunday evening. You can still schedule your match to any day you like, as long as it is within the week’s deadline  (exceptions can be made as long as both teams do not fall behind their schedule and contact an admin) and as long as you schedule the match until Sunday evening before the week starts. Default dates will be set during every Monday, it is possible that the default date will be on the same Monday as it should not come as a surprise to either team.

Rescheduling a match (other than moving the time by some hours to accommodate different timezones) is not allowed from Monday on for any reason!

The last match of the Highlander Nations Cup Group Stage is being played tonight. England as the favourite for this match can still make it to the playoffs, Italy can not – this does not mean they won’t put up a fight though!

HL Nations Cup: Tie-Breaker

A tie-breaker match between the Netherlands and Spain has been created to decide who from Group A plays France and who plays Lithuania in the first playoff round. The deadline for this match is Wednesday, July 18 (included), and the map is koth_pro_viaduct_rc3.

Once this tiebreaker is done, the playoff stage will be seeded and the teams that made it to the playoffs can start playing their matches.

ETF2L Season 12 Awards hosted by PirateRadio

Season 12 is now over with the last match being played last week. As after every season, it is now time for the awards! However unlike previous seasons this time around PirateRadio hosted the awards nominations on the show yesterday. This means that the nominations were done slightly differently, where players from each Prem team plus respected community members comprised the panel and voted for who they believed were the top 3 in each award. The votes were then tallied and the top 3 players with the most nominations in each category can now be voted for by you the ETF2L community to decide who wins each award.  The voting will end Sunday 22nd July in time for the next episode of PirateRadio where the results will be announced live!

Congratulations to Epsilon eSports for winning the 12th season of the ETF2L 6v6 league! After an exciting 3 map grand final against  TCM Gaming they managed to take the crown for the fourth time after losing to Team Infused in last season’s grand final.
