ETF2L is looking for new Staff to recruit! Are you interested in supporting the league? Then click here for more details on what we can offer and how to apply!
We are proud to announce the Provisional Divisions for Highlander Season 3! We would like to stress that the provisional divisions are not final and may undergo changes.
If you are not happy with the division that your team has been placed in, please contact an admin in IRC as soon as possible. Keep in mind that much like during the signup process, you must provide evidence of your ability to perform at the level of the division you wish to enter. This means, at minimum, a screenshot album displaying performance of your team against other similar-skilled teams. These pictures can be taken from PCWs, scrims, cups, other leagues and so on.
Provisional groups will be announced on Saturday evening, and finalized on Monday. Once the groups have been finalized, division change requests will no longer be accepted.
Season 13 powered by Tt eSPORTS: Premiership Match – The Last Resort vs Punchline
Watch live video from VanillaTV on www.twitch.tv The Last Resort can take the second place in the Premiership Division tonight, if they get at least two points. However, the matches against the current top 2 (Epsilon eSports and BFF) are still pending and promise some exciting action for the next week.
Punchline, who came in 4th in Season 12, have been struggling so far and are only sitting on 4 points at the moment. 6 points would at least increase the chances of participating in the Premiership playoffs at all.
VanillaTV will cover this match, starting at 21.15 CEST. The casters are djc and Admirable with huhy in control of the camera.
As some of you may already have noticed, the rows indicating who gets promoted (green), demoted (red) or has to play a playoff match (blue) have been added to the tables. All dropped teams are marked red too because they lost their guaranteed spot in their division.
Please note as well that we can not guarantee a secure spot for the next season in a division with many drops, if your team lost all matches and only was not on a demotion spot because many other teams dropped.
Highlander Season 3 Signups
Tonight is the last chance to register your team for the third ETF2L Highlander Season. All teams that sign up after tonight at 23:59 CEST are placed on the waiting list and will replace dropping teams in the first two weeks.
Season 13 powered by Tt eSPORTS: Premiership Match – Epsilon eSports vs Crack Clan

cp_process_b10fix [Map 2]
As the sun begins to set on Season 13, a tumultous battle has erupted over the idolised fourth place playoff spot, a springboard which could jettison any team towards victory, and compensate for a season full of calamity and regret. Epsilon eSports, the current thronebearers of the ETF2L, are pitted against fourth-placed Crack Clan, who need to rise from the ashes of their dissapointing defeat at the hands of BFF to secure themselves a playoff spot. Chaplain sat down with the sensational Retshock, to find out how much a victory could mean for the Crack Clan side tonight:
C:“Afternoon Retshock, good to talk to you; how are you feeling ahead of the big game tonight?”
R:“I’m feeling great, every night of games that includes an ETF2L official match is great and this one is no different!”
C:“I’m glad to hear it, lets get down to business. How much does a win mean for you and your team tonight?”
R:“A win tonight matters a great deal to us, however even if we fall short, we know that we still have a chance of achieving our initial goal, which was to reach the playoffs. If we win – that’s great, however if not then then it’s not that big of a deal.”
C:“Nice to hear that you’re taking it easy, but how confident of victory are you tonight?”
R:“I can’t tell exactly how confident we are of victory, however, I can tell you that we are very confident in our play, and I think if we bring our A game we could take tonight’s match.”
C:“Good to hear, now finally, who do you think will cause you the most problems tonight?”
R:“It’s hard to decide, I think if Mike has a good day then he’ll be annoying to play against, but so would Numlocked or Wltrs ( only if he snipes cause he can’t scout for shit ).”
C:“Thanks for your time!”
So, Crack Clan aren’t sure how they are going to do, despite the fighting talk aimed at Wltrs. I asked Epsilon’sMike the same set of questions:
C:“Evening Mike, how are you feeling ahead of the big game tonight?”
M:“I’m feeling very good thanks, I’m sure my team is too as we have established a good playstyle and consistency recently which has settled us down.”
C:“How much does a win mean for you and your team tonight?”
M:” Crack Clan are (imo) a top 3 team and seeing as we secured 6 points from BFF a win tonight would make us 109% confident going into the playoffs, so it is quite important. However, we could easily shrug a loss off as these maps do not bring out the best in us”
C:“Who do you think will cause you the most problems tonight?
M:” Retsh0ck is insane and it frightens me to imagine him without that hefty ping, fortunately for us with it he is merely a top prem demoman, so shouldn’t pose too many problems.”
C:“Thanks and best of luck for tonight!”
VanillaTV will be covering this match, live from 21.15 CEST, featuring the amazing Arx & Beta combo and an unannounced streamer; see you there!

Season 13 Reminders & Catch Up Week
As in every season, using wildcards during the last week of the competition (October 28 to November 3) is not allowed and rescheduling is only possible with mutual agreement from both teams. If your opponent used a wildcard anyway, please do not simply ignore it but contact an admin. The admin will reinstate the old schedule and post a reminder on the match page.
For the experienced players among us this should also not come as a surprise. The rosters of all teams participating in Season 13 will be locked from October 28 to the end of the playoffs. You are not allowed to add new players to the roster and you are only allowed to use a maximum of 2 mercs per match. To play it safe, you should add possible backup players to your roster as soon as possible.
To accomodate teams whose matches were delayed by wildcards or extensions, Season 13 will have a catch up week from November 4 to November 10. All matches with no result on November 11 at midnight will be nullified. Please note that no team will be forced by the league to play any later than the official week 7 deadline (November 3). All wildcarded matches will receive a default date on Saturday, October 27, and to make use of the catch up week you need to request an extension of the match deadline (or take the minor warning).
Highlander Reminders
Remember that Highlander Season 3 Signups close on the 24th, 23:59 CEST, so if you want to enter, you need to submit your application now. More information regarding Highlander Season 3 can be found on its hub page.
With the first Week 6 matches happening tonight, it’s a good time to remind teams about our CTF rules.
CTF is played in 10 minute long rounds.
First team to reach five intel captures wins the round.
If neither team captures five times before time runs out, team with most captures wins the round.
A round can end in a draw.
First team to win two 10-minute rounds, wins the map.
If score is tied after 3 rounds (one round ended in a draw), play a golden cap round with winlimit 1 and timelimit 5.
If neither team captures the intel during the golden cap, repeat the round until one team scores a capture.
When submitting results for a match that ended in a golden cap, don’t forget to tick the “GC win” box!
If you haven’t done so yet, download the latest ETF2L CTF config here: [League configs]
Please remember to upload one screenshot for each round. For example, if you played three rounds and a golden cap, you need to add 4 screenshots total when you submit the result.
ilike2spin’s Medic Mentor Group
A couple of weeks ago, one of the top European medics, ilike2spin, decided to start some brainstorming amongst other medics, in order to improve his understanding of the game. Soon, his idea grew into a small project, the goal of which is to share his and his colleagues’ insights with everyone interested, to help players from lower divisions step up their game. With the sessions being streamed, he’d like to invite everyone to listen and ask questions about medicing:
Hi, my name is ilike2spin from Team Decerto in European TF2’s premier division, and I’d like to introduce my competitive TF2 medic mentor stream, aimed at medics of all abilities. Each week I am joined by two medics from some of the best teams in European TF2 and we discuss the strategies, tips and tricks we use when playing our favourite class, as well as answering any questions we have from stream viewers. Whether you’re a competitive or even public, come join us on Sunday evenings at 19cet.
This week I’m joined by Ace from Elemental Violence, European TF2’s division 1 team and TheSucker, medic for the old yoyotech, Team Sweden and of course SNSD highlander team, with which I’ll be discussing strategies for ctf_turbine_pro as well as asking questions from our viewers.
Join us on Huhy’s stream at 8PM CEST on http://twitch.tv/huhytf2 to follow all the action!
The provisional map pool has been adjusted based on player feedback, and the final schedule is as follows:
Week 1: pl_badwater
Week 2: cp_steel
Week 3: pl_upward
Week 4: cp_granary + koth_lakeside_final
Week 5: cp_gravelpit
