What skeej said – although I would argue for HD280 Pro’s rather than 555’s but it’s a matter of preference I guess :)

Yeah 280PRO also is really good, but i like HD because it is an open design. I have HD595 myself. Ordered HD555 but it was a surprise in the box :D

v1s, yes, and the soundquality is going to be half as good (if that) as well.

…the fuck outta here.

I have steelseries 5H V2 and wouldn’t recommend them. The inline volume thing is dodgy as hell (if you adjust it, sound will disappear in one of the ears usually), and there’s no bass whatsoever. Not good for listening to music at all…

I’ve used SteelSeries Siberia V2 for 4months now and I couldn’t be happier. Great built, quality and microphone. Also the you get the 2nd wire(extension cord), so you can use the short one when you’re on computer and the extension cord when needed.

edit: Also the price is pretty cheap? At least in Finland.

This applies to the Siberia V2’s also. Comfiest headphones ever but fairly bad sound quality.

I’ve been using the Fatal1ty for a while now, but i think the volume is just too low and theres not enough bass for me. I’m probably gonna buy the Siberia V2 since a lot of my friends use it, it’s comfortable and the sounds pretty good.

Well, there is your answer…HD555 are that much better. Both sound quality, comfort and build quality. I rather buy one pair 555 than 5x Siberia.

Siberia’s are AWFUL

ATH AD700 – Best option for gaming if you’re not lanning
HD595 – Not as good as AD700 but still nice if you’re not lanning (both give some nice results with a little amp)
DT770 – Lan / closed option
ATH A700 – Lan /closed, not as nice as above for gaming
HD555 – Cheap, open, best bang for buck
PC 350 – Overpriced HD555 closed with a mic, ALOT worse for music, maybe a little better for gaming.

Also for LANs and such, this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_MDR-V6 , and it’s successors. If you search well you can find the old V6 model for real bargain prices, cause it’s been EOL for a while.

Alright so, I did go for headphones and separate mic (clip-on), and, big surprise, the mic is already broken. FUCKING CRAP BREAKING ALL THE FUCKING TIME (special “fuck you” to SpeedLink).

So now I’m looking to buy some ridiculously over the top badass motherfucking studio microphone with army-grade durability so I can just plop it somewhere in this TINY room (I can pretty much touch the walls to all sides) and people will still be able to hear me.

Motherfucking cheap electronics manufacturers can suck my sweaty balls.

If anyone has a great mic, let me know. I don’t give a shit at this point anymore, I’ll buy something that requires a mic-stand, a donkey and a giraffe mating in my bathtub, eating Abra’s presumably disgusting toe-nails for breakfast for a week, whatever. My spirit is broken.

Not a ‘studio mic’, but:

Get 5 of these: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4468
With one of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5157

5 so you can just replace it if it breaks.

Audio quality is very good.
