@dvb: What mousemat? I have a 59cm/360 and my razer goliathus large edition and it’s good, but it seems a little bit too small for my aimstyle. I’m new to low sens though so idk.

Don’t buy a DA if you play soldier and want to run the risk of looking at sky/ground instead of rocket jumping properly. It’s a known problem with the DA (also in other games such as CoD, ET or Brink where people do quick 180’s)

I haven’t experienced such thing either and trust me I do a LOT of 180’s.

3 DA’s and 1 Imperator broke in 1.5 months for me. I’m so careful with my mice, but it looks like the mouse 4’s for the PTT couldn’t handle it. So then went back to the trusted Logitech, and took the G500, which is amazing. Can’t wish for a better mouse. I’ll always prefer Logitech over Razer anyway.

Had my DA for like 6 years, haven’t had any problems up until recently where I guess you could say its too old, my mouse3 button is broken (happened a few months back) and the click is starting to become problematic whereby it either wont work once clicked, or it will work, but instantly, and holding down is only viable if pressed hard.

However, if I come to replace it, I would definitely get another DA

The Deathadder not only has that weird looking at sky/ground problem but let’s not forget about that fucking vertical jitter

Ok. Financial update. I’m considering to spend up to $85 now, so I am thinking about getting Xai. So there is more to choose from now. Give your opinions on this Steelseries piece of work. Thanks!

Wait. Are you sure they are broken, have you tried different usb ports in case they are broken. Or software issues, would be a waste of money to jump to the easiest conclusion.

Imo both are nice mice. But I prefer Xai , nice weight, good sensor, had it a year and it only just starting to show signs of wear and tear.

My opinion on the Deathadder:

(Latest DA firmware fixes the issues I mention in that review)

The Zowie EC1/2 might be interesting as well:

I’ve had the G500 for 1.5 years now. I use a 34/360 cm sens and I have never had the slightest problem with my G500.

Well. To be honest, I have tried all I could. I ploughed every usb port I have on my mobo with those nasty cables. They can be considered machos cause of the quantity of holes they were in. And it’s not software, cause with the software when it disconnected, it was considering the highest dpi setting (switched on mouse itself) the lowest (400 for both). So if you pressed the “lower dpi’ button it went to the center of the Earth, that’s how low it got. So yeah. I’ve been struggling for more than I can remember with both of them. So yeah it’s a cord issue I guess. But I’d rather not give them away for like 2 weeks and then get something like “oh sorry, we couldn’t fix it, here you go”. I’m ready to make a new purchase and willing to choose from couple of the good but not too expensive mice. :)

Do note that Arie’s experiences don’t match those of some other players ;). Buying the right mouse is trial and error.

A couple of months ago I was playing on a Trust mouse, without a surface or anything. It was ok, but when I switched to Xai and started using a surface as well I was amazed.

The Xai has such an incredible accuracy and it works perfectly for tracking or flick shots, it’s like you could move in any direction without any effort. It took me about 5 hours to get fully used to it, and about 2 days to get the feeling that I was using that mouse forever. It’s durable, I even slammed it on the table and dropped it on the ground and it works like nothing happened.

One last thing I could say, it’s that it also works without drivers (drivers are optional). I think it works best without accel, but for me it NEVER skipped or get negative accel when playing (I use accel).

Good luck!
