Gubbins

Do you really see an advantage in the roamer going sniper or were you just bored of badlands over and over again?

Dummy

getting rolled by a div 1 team or rolling div 3 teams, which is more beneficial for the individual and the team?

Switchin to sniper is almost the same as bombing basically, youll just lose the ability to defend your medic. Sniper is quite tricky, works 4/10.

How can the community help itself stay alive, who do we put pressure on for a big LAN?

Also do you think e-sports in general will beomce ‘mainstream’? TF2 seems like the game to do it with, cartoony but violent, easy to follow I think, looks good with airshots etc. Also best community, not all 12 years old.

Well the main problem is the explination of classes, but the idea of capping points is easy enough to follow. And it is by far teh ebst spectator game, always looks interesting. The problem is getting the intial crowd and convicing people that it is as ‘real’ a sport as any other, in terms of skill.

Its simply boils down the fact that we have achived everything that is possible as a community except the interweb mainstream success for TF2 so the scene is unable to move forward anymore without a big LAN.

E-sports in general wont come mainstream unless there is unions, regulations, rules, lots of money and one league with only few games which gets regularly updated. Gamecompanies, sponsors etc all under the same roof. If a new game pops out every year its impossible to have a proper “esports”.

TF2:
medic’s role, unique in his non-violent playstyle in FPS games
stickies lol
9 classes to understand
capture point system
long standoffs between pushes on slower maps
CSS:
shoot pixel people get kills

stating this in basics of course =p

Do you notice a difference between jumping alot (just space) and not jumping? Does it make it easier to avoid splash and/or aim for splash on flat ground?

1.6 has been going 15 years or so as a competive game haven’t it?

*edit*
Yeah but CS is boring as shit to watch, while TF2 looks interesting, which is good to get ppl to start watching.

Seems longer, anyway my point still stands, 1.6 survied after CC:S came out, so games can survive as time passes and new games of similar or the same style.
