You can basically deny all reschedule requests and say the default is the only day you can play. That way you will get the default win or force a wildcard out of your opponent.

actually, you can
during season, you can propose any time on the match page, via calendar: if the opponent don’t respond, the default date will be set on that date you proposed

since this is a cup now and it cant be proceed further if not all game are played to a deadline

if you have a proposal for another system, go on

Sideshow makes a good point, if there’s no connect/server info discussed on the match page, what protection is there from a team just jumping on a random server and taking a screenshot/status shot inferring that the opponents ‘didn’t show up at the allotted time’?

be ready and comment on the match page

have a day or so to schedule or propose dates for a cup and don’t set all defaults to the same day

See how fucking broken it is then?

Problem is though that there is no such thing as “normal pcw times”…

Yes, yes there are.

Retshock, just go on a tf2 server now and take a screenshot with you and Psun, then say you actually were on the server in time and you forgot that you took the screenshot. The admins have no proof to the contrary so they’ll have to force a replay! ;)

We can change avatars and nickname and do it Tapley ;). We’ll just steal a status screenshot from a cc game and photoshop it in a bit.

Yes there are. The NORM in tf2 is to have team pcws at 20cet. The fact that some stray teams, mixes, or semi-european teams play outside of these norms doesn’t change that.

Yes, lots of teams have PCWs at 20cet. That doesn’t magically make it viable for a league rule to say that games are to be at that time. The whole idea behind ETF2L having a calendar system is for teams to agree on a date and time themselves. Limiting them to a set timespan would be unfair on the teams that can only play outside it.

However, all of this is 100% irrelevant, because default dates are set only when teams have not managed to agree on a date themselves!

If one team bothers to actually propose a date and the other team ignores it, the default date will almost always be set to the preference of the team that did bother.

tl;dr just schedule your game

A team can deny any reschedule attempt and force the default date (and that’s what the russians basically did)

As pointed out above, this wouldn’t be possible if the game had scheduling attempts before the default date was set.

Also please drop the aggression, we’re all just trying to have a normal discussion here.

Recording the scheduling as per wireplay, would be a nice addition too, BTW.

Not if the other team denies the proposed date?

Scheduling is recorded – just not visible to non-admins :)

If they didn’t deny the proposed date then it means they mutually agreed on a date, and no default date would be set at all :)

It would still be a nice feature to add to the match page, don’t you think? I can’t see any drawbacks from doing so.

Not really, because you can just keep denying any other propositions your opponent makes.

It is on the match page already :P

Aye, and when the time comes for a default date, it will be in favour of the team that proposed a date. Match comments are usually taken into account as well. We’re way too lenient really!

It was not possible to try and get a better default date due to them being set instantly after the matchpage had gone live.

The system is fine in my opinion, but you need something else for cups

Hey, weren’t you with the guys who defaulted their way into Div3? How did that work out for you?
