Does 'skill' level really = experience?

this. at least for roam soldier this is 100% true. there really is no way to teach it, it just comes from many hours playing. sure you can teach positioning and what someone should be doing, but you need to know how to react to every situation that arises and react quickly. also be good at getting medic picks!

then you can play div3 gz.

I get like 5 kills per map, so I guess I’m awesome
If I’m playing with someone who is never where I expect him to be, then I assume he’s not capable of playing at whatever level we are playing at (assuming it’s an at least semi-serious game).
