Gravelpit is awesome :D
No back and forth pushing, plus I can chill as an engie :D

Why would anyone not love back and forth action?
It’s an extremely well-designed map. It’s interesting and different from push maps and the best of it’s kind so it’s really a no-brainer to keep it in the map pool, Even if it can get incredibly gay with enough heavies and engies involved.

Do ho ho
Gravelpit for me, is a little tedious to play and worse to spectate, however it should definitely be in the map pool. It’s a map that offers a different tactical game to players and it very much rewards patience and intelligence.
Removing Gravelpit and adding another 5CP map would be a terrible idea.
I look forward to more leagues adopting ESL’s approach with Turbine this season. The new 3x10min rounds make the map so much more enjoyable for a team and actually make the map worth spectating now too!
i like gravel. o/

Agree – except Turbine part – the map is truly bad.
I would say that frequency Gravelpit appears is a bit much despite it being a good addition, I would prefer if the number of times Gravel is played were shared between Gravel and Turbine, Gravel and Viaduct, or some other non-5CP map.

But do other e-sports have different game modes in the same league? CSS sticks to de and CoD 4 sticks to Search And Destroy. Is this not the same kind of thing? Like putting a CTF map into a CoD 4 tournament, or hostage rescue in CSS?? Do these games seem stale to the players who play these games just because it is one gamestyle/gamemode?, as the overall player numbers would suggest otherwise.
I love Gravel but you have to agree that it can get a bit tiresome at the end of a three round match.
Saying that we’ve played it a lot recently with etf2l and wireplay, dont think we’ve spent more than 45 minutes in 4 officials and some pcw’s.
Keep Gravel, obviously one of the best maps for epic, all class, last ditch save, awesome Kritz, go-go-go-go, get-it-get-it-get-it, jump…go on jump!!! ahhhhhhhhh…..stickies……!… moments. It rocks.

In my experience people who hate it, does so because it’s one of few maps you can’t win by pure DM skill.
(I vote yes! keep it.)
@chobby… that’s not really the same thing… as A/D maps vs 5CP are very similar… you attack and defend on 5CP just as you do on a A/D map… so throwing in “thats like cod putting in a capture the flag mode” is just pretty stupid imo
(hope I didn’t misunderstand it’s pretty late here and I’m off to bed)

That’s a pretty silly way to put it as you attack or defend regardless of what game mode you’re playing. By that logic CTF is the same as CP. Just because 5CP and A/D maps are similar doesn’t make it the same. There’s many differences between a 5CP map and an A/D map.
I’d actualy go as far as saying it is my favorite map to play at the moment.
Granlands overplayed, Obscure can be sooo slow and freight/gully last points are just bitches to push.
Gravelpit is a refreshing change of pace and another good stopwatch map would do the mappool good imho. A working CTF map (turbine with 3 10 minute rounds seems bearable at least) might be good too.

I can’t tell for those games, but the Korean BW leagues usualy had some really gimmicky maps in the map pool and the proleague had 2v2 for like half of it’s lifespan. TF2 as an esport is small and underdeveloped in comparison anyway, some experimentation and diversity can’t really hurt.
