With how random melee is in this game dodging market gardener is significantly harder. It just makes the game more random for no good reason.

Allow me to rephrase.
Insta killing a medic as a class that is not SPECIFICALLY designed to do so, and therefore balanced appropriately, is unbalanced and game changing imho.

thats one of the best things ive ever seen :D
also O.T. -> cause it just has 1 disadvantage, which is No random critical hits
and because they are disabled in etf2l anyways, cause we are living in the year 2013. thats why its not alowed. simple as that.

The way I see it is that there are no drawbacks to the MG only when you compare it to the shovel. And you shouldn’t compare it to the shovel since, quite frankly, nobody uses the shovel.
You should act under the impression that the EP/PT is the default weapon (as it is in all actuality) and as such the MG’s drawbacks are that it won’t make you run faster/cap faster.

Market Gardener is the most fun weapon valve have invented for soldier.

you have to compare it to the default weapons. cause the unlocks like EP /PT still have a disadvantage, you get minicrits+cant get heals for EP. and you get more damage by hitscan weapons with PT. and the MG have neither of those. you have no disadvantages with it

you can make faster hits with the bonesaw… even if no one care about this little disadvantage .. its still there! and could change little fights. like medic 1on1’s

But why? If the MG is allowed, it’s not a choice between it and the shovel. It’s a choice between the MG and the EP/PT, and that’s the choice that determines its drawbacks.
The shovel never comes to play in the comparison, it might as well not exist.

well even if it sounds a bit weird, its unfair for all the new players who wanna join etf2l and are pretty new to tf2. if they dont know that much or dont have enough money/ items to buy/ craft it, they will have a disadvantage. like i said it sounds weird but you have to count with those points as well.
also to kill a medic with 1 shot is just imba imo. even if a sniper can do this as well.
its like the ullapool caber without selfdamage. and everyone cried about the ulapool caber didnt we? maybe it should get added in an ESA cup or so to test it. but imo its a bit too powerful. it gives the player no disadvantage only advantages compared to the “default soldier” . and to play the default soldier you need the most skills ;-)

I don’t see why not make a ONLY VANILA CUP with no unlocks at all no medic unlocks too.
and one with all the unlocks except for broken one (Op ones as well).
and see how it turns out…

oldschool cup and an unlock cup? seems fun, but gathering from the voices in this thread, people seems to hate unlocks…
