I didnt have any problem finding a clan,1st clan I joined was 10 days after I bought TF2(125days ago) but I was too inexperinced and they didnt want me to play as main scout :P.
But now I have different kind of problem – div6 is boring.
Bought the orange box the first day it came out, played on a few public servers for a few months took the plunge and hired an 18 man server and dragged the rest of the -=Crazy=- clan kicking and screaming from guildwars and battlefield to tf2.
Started playing matchs vs other clans which visted our pub server.
[CantFitMyN] gave me the link to etf2l.org, signed -=Crazy=- up to season 3 and said we were pretty good at tf2, got put into div 4 and raped so hard it was untrue with either no win limit or first to 8 = painful! How were we supposed to know soldiers could jump to middle wtf is this nonsence! We rolled with heavies and pyros pub teams ftw!
Hooked ever since :P
played pickups
demourge added me
i trialled for his team (FB2)
he told me to go demo (i played soldier before that)
stuff happened
and that’s how im in epsilon
Got hooked by my boyfriend, played pyro on pub for a month, found out that there was a competitive version of the game and knew that I needed to be part of that… Got a trial as medic with the first competitive team I found looking, the trial was my first 6on6, I must have been terrible, but I guess being female got me the job :D
Played long time on pubs, saw hocz join the server (knew him from QWTF) and he asked me to join gatherfi (finnish pick up) after playing there 6v6’s for a while i joined the team from my favourite pub server as a medic. Got kicked out from that div6 team in mid season for being too good and “raging” for others because they didn’t understand the concept of the game that well back then. Then i applied for MIPC to play medic in div3 and never actually played a single match as a medic since they made me scout. Played there for couple of seasons and moved out when there was bit of line up issues and i felt like i had enough experience to move onwards. After getting this 3 seasons of experience it was quite easy to find teams all the time no matter class, didn’t really find team as a scout/medic but have been playing soldier ever since.

you forgot to add the part where you were in a pub team with me and I wanted you to join the competitive team I was trying to get going and you said NOES
fu
Oh dear. Like 90% of the competitive community I orient from public servers. Did play the game for 2 years with no config/hud/custom crosshair, mostly playing medic and engineer on my favourite arena server :D Didnt get into competitive tf2 untill late 2009 / early 2010, playing with a team of pubmates and other friends untill we folded. This was like, div5. The tryhardest division in the world.
My lovely friend Shinzo got me into mixes/doublemixes a bit after we folded where I improved, met friends and contacts and god knows what. More people on my friendlist meant more frequent mixes. Its like a chain reaction.
Eventualy I found some nice, teamless people and made a higher skilled team
Since when did “FINDING A TEAM?” mean “HOW I GOT INTO MY TEAM” )))
basicaly pub > basic gamesense > mixes > make team with friends > mge for 9000 hours > fold > mixes > repeat
I only started comp TF2 2 months ago and I’m still on my first team. I basically got into it by becoming friends with profane on a pub server. He got me into mixes, and convinced me to put up a recruitment post. I did a mix with iN Spin and did quite well, so he commented on my post and then 2 teams contacted me asking if I wanted to trial. So doing well in mixes with good players was the best way for me to get onto a team. I guess I got lucky that profane and Spin are super nice guys and helped me along.
The first person to contact me was Hildreth from LTG and he was kind enough to say I didn’t suck (<3) but my lack of comp TF2 experience (5-6 mixes at the time) wouldn't go down well in div 4. Then Oxy contacted me, asked if I wanted to join the team he was making and I did. And now we're doing really well, hopefully competing for top 3 in our 5c division.

Tbh if you were clanless now and we needed a solly I would take you <3
Back when I was 200% more retarded and had just started playing tf2 frequently (had less than 20 hours clocked before that), an angry german guy that was brilliant at getting people to hate him (grimbar) also frequented the only pub server I ever went on (ubercharged server 2) and said he’d mentor me and told me to pick a class. I played mostly only spy though so I picked scout, the only other class I had more than 5 hours game time on. But I was a supreme shitter and it didn’t really go anywhere.
Some months later or something, continuity did some late night almost daily double mixes consisting of them, ubercharged pubbers and some TC people. Switched to soldier, eventually made a div 6 team with some other pubbers and did quite well (won wireplay div 6, second in etf2l season 8 div 6) and then eventually became the super awesome roaming soldier that leaves enemy teams in awe and admiration.

I’m really good at making people hate me – it helps them though, so you’re welcome!

played pickups
raped demourge (;D) and he added me
played with px2 once
trialed for px1 after that one game
Was in px1 officially after a week or two.
And that’s how I jumped from Div5 to Div2 (at that time). Props to Demsi the kankerrager.
i started Comp tf2. because i like this game and i’m almost alway in the Top3 on pubs. so i want something more to improve my skills.
started with my own team Gathering of tweakers with Skeej. ;)
after few month the team failed and we search are own teams and getting better :P
