If they count so little, then why even bother?
[…]
So how would round difference work? Would 5-3 be better than 2-0 for the losing team?
Because they would count, just ‘little’ when compared to the win/loss points
for the 2nd bit, 5-3 would be better, aye

Seems the archive pages are a bit bugged as well. Can’t find the fixtures page through clicking on it (gets you to the wrong page), but here are the urls for you:

so using which system, the one vali proposed?
Quoted from Vali
Points = Rounds where if one teams’ round total >5, then it is reduced to 5 (only concerning the awarding of points) and the opposite team’s by equally as many (keeping the round difference intact), with a bonus point to the winning team.
5-0 = 6 points, 0 points
5-1 = 6 points, 1 point
3-2 = 4 points, 2 points
6-1 = 6 points, 0 points
10-8 = 6 points, 3 points
Gravelpit would be a 6,0 or 4,2Promotes non-turtling play and rewards the losing team with points if they did well. Only bad thing is that intense, low-score games don’t score as highly but then again it’s in line with rewarding a team that could do better (like 5-0) more points.
far too much emphasis on rounds imho.
you could lose your div while not losing a single round/map.
Spike: give me diff. season, this one has turbine in it. I’ll calculate it using Vali’s, except giving 3 points for a win instead of 1 (as slate said above wins need more emphasis) and 0.5 for a round

if your system was viable, the maps played shouldnt matter.
So yeah, point made :)

I’d be fine with that, if the team in question won every game by winning the first round and then turtling for the remaining time. The numbers I put up were just to demonstrate how it would work (which Spike still managed to get wrong).
I don’t think the system I suggested is particularly great anyway since I’d much prefer to have one based primarily on round difference (so a 2-0 awards the same points as a 4-2). It would better award points for “close games” rather than “getting rounds” but I couldn’t think of a way quick and easy way to calculate points so went with rounds for simplicity.

good job on being an idiot; im talking about rounds won, not flags captured.

Don’t post things you know are wrong just to make someone angry / prove a point to anyone and then expect to be treated courteously (inb4)

Also Dummy I’m not sure how Turbine flag caps still couldn’t work. If anything above 5 translates into windifference then all it’d mean is that Turbine was a punishing map to get points on as the losing team because you’d need to be within 4 caps to do so and the potential for a larger cap difference is far greater. This isn’t out of line with the current gravelpit system where there is no golden cap win, making it impossible to pick up points as the losing team even if you win a round.

Calm down, Dummy. No insults, please.

Sick observation, but have you considered my question was actually genuine?

Ill do those later, was doing em but realised teams drop and i would have to completely change stuff =c
For turbine: wouldn’t this put teams into negative points from games though? wouldnt want that (besides ctf_ is no longer played) for gpit, w/e someone above said would be fine; because the rounds are more important, 3 points for win + 1 for round, so when its 2:0, you get (as winning team) 5 points, 2:1, 4 points. I agree with you on that round difference would be better but I’ve not the time to think about that right now and how it would work.
One more thing i’m not sure of – e.g. you lose badlands 5-4 and win gullywash 4-0, you get (assuming 3 / win and 0.5 / round) 7 points, enemy team gets 5.5. should it be counted as a draw (1 map / each) but still have the points counted in the tables, or a win for you as got more points?
and finally any ideas on how-to incorporate round difference =x?
