Yea it rarely counts down, but imagine a situation where you are leading 1-0 and have cp3 lets say in granary. 10min left and winner gets well oiled handjob from perry. Would you push?
stream didn’t work for me, had to download the thing, any1 else or just me?
CP3 to CP2 on granary is a map problem. Even by your example and proposed solution you’d still be able to use up 5 minutes, meaning you’d only need to win mid once more in the round restart and you’d win the map. I think First to X caps would affect it more than changing round times.

games could go on forever with X caps. Similiar places are in every map, Id rather push from cp3 to cp2 than have a new midfight.

i’d lose intentionally so that i wouldn’t get a tugjob from a child
I’m actually on Darns side even though he is a VOTW!
The main problem with a 10 minute round timer is that if both teams are of the same skill level, both teams are bad at pushing and good at defending or a team is good at locking down an area of the map, then the whole 10 minutes can be used which is 1/3 of the map. This does happen on maps such as fastlane 4 – 5, well 2 – 3, granary 3 – 2 and vice versa.
The argument that some of the best games happen over a long round time does not affect the reduction of round timer because if a game is going back and forth then the round timer will get recharged when people cap the points.
When you weigh up the pros and the cons of reducing the round timer, in theory, the pros heavily outweigh the cons. Best way to test this would be with a cup or introducing it into some sort of pickup channel.

A bit of feedback:
If you want to reach more people than the ETF2L community it would be a good thing if you gave some description of the guys you’re talking about.
For example when you talked about dunc and fisshu. I don’t remember you ever mentioning who they were. If the listener’s not familiar with the ETF2L community he won’t have a clue what you’re talking about.
Otherwise, great podcast, I really like it. Keep ’em coming.

I think initially we are just trying to find our feet and over the coming weeks we will be branching out and trying to get into different scenes. We never really noticed this point but its one worth mentioning, taken on board :)

The only viable addition to roundtimes around 3 minutes are percental points for cp advantages, e.g. 0.3 CP3, 0.5 CP4 with additional bonus times (around 1min) when cp constellation changes.
Guess there are bad incentives as well (fortress building on certain cps), but you can’t cease them at all with an overall timelimit.

Nice – subscribed
You could do with moving your category from Sports & Recreation to Games & Hobbies – Video Games for max coverage (it’s also where Friendly Fire and Kritzkast are found).
As for episode 2 – greatly improved audio and a good guest – good job.
