One Night Cup updates and reminders

A reminder to all oldschoolers – the Blast From The Past funcup is happening tonight, and if your team signed up for it, we’ll be waiting for you. If your team hasn’t signed up for it yet, you still can – we’re a little shy of a nice and round 64 participants, so you can sign up while there are slots left. Once we hit 64 signups, any extra ones will go to the waiting list to replace noshows – and the waiting list usually gets to play in most one night cups.

To ensure an enjoyable cup experience, we have decided to revise the cup configs and map rules. The new configs for the cup (including a hardcore no-hats whitelist) can be found [here]. Here are the revised win conditions and schedule for each of the cup rounds:

  1. 20:00 CET – Round of 16 Starts – ctf_2fort (timelimit 20, winlimit 7, 10 minute golden cap if stalemate)
  2. 20:35 CET – Quarter-Finals Start – cp_well (timelimit 30, windifference 5)
  3. 21:20 CET – Semi-Finals Start – cp_gravelpit (stopwatch, best of 1)
  4. Played before 24th December – Final (Bo3: cp_dustbowl, ctf_turbine, cp_granary as a decider if necessary)

Cup Rules Summary

  • 2 mercs allowed by default
  • Medic limit 1, all other classes limited to 2. You can use two demomen.
  • No unlocks. The ETF2L cup whitelist blocks all custom items, however you may use a whitelist that allows cosmetics only.
  • Jumping and shooting over/through the trains on cp_well during setup is allowed for all classes.
  • Scout lamp jump during setup is allowed

    I wondered that myself, but the configs linked in this newpost execute the standard etf2l.cfg (and not the S1 config as in the older newspost), so we will be fine.

    Random crits, damage spread and bullet spread would have been interesting, but definitely nothing I really miss :D

    You should put granary as the last map instead so that we get to see dustbowl played.

    @ Spycy – of course.
    @ Galant, Selek – using S1 config would bring huge problems for servers and the whole cup as it is outdated in many ways. That’s why we are using a modified ETF2L one.
