„When will you publish Season 3 Divisions?” was the most asked question of the last days. Finally all 19 Divisions are ready and Fixtures are fixed!

We are sorry we weren’t able to realize every request; anyway we are happy over 95% of all teams are playing in the divisions they requested.
Feel free to already start scheduling your matches. Don’t forget to add every scheduled date to our Calendar.
Always have in mind to keep all official given dates for your matches:

Map Pick Phase
With publishing the final Divisions also our Map Pick Phase is starting. Every team will have to pick all maps for the complete Season till Sunday evening. We please every team who got problems doing the Map Picks in time to contact us.

- Every team will have to submit their Map Picks as confirmation of their application in Season 3. Every team who hasn’t submitted their Map Picks by the Deadline will lose his Season spot.
- Map Picks Deadline: Sunday, 24th August, 23:59 CET
- Map Picks can be changed as often as you want till Deadline is over.
- Every entered team leader and deputy is able to submit/change Map Picks.
- Map Picks won’t be published until Deadline is over.

Due to the professionalism of Division 1 teams in our first two Seasons (4 teams dropped out in each) we are also having some special fun poll this time. :-)

very bad i must say i really doubt 95% of the teams are satisfied with their spot on the divisions…
then its up to those “95%” to stop whining, and start winning and prove where they belong and the problem will solve itself for the next season :).

clans that dont expect to stay for more than 1 season shouldnt join a league imho. “Facts” regarding skill can only be settled ingame, not at a forum or irc :).

About the last vote yea, I don’t see Interrobang folding, since now they have 4 core members from united (Moose,Sniffz,Humis,Jambo) so they’re a tight bunch. Maybe well tho see a name change, does that count?;]
div 2a will be the most interesting to watch :), i want to see how the night finnish side “ret” do :)!

@tramsig. Never asked to be moved down. TT simply said, IF there is a better team from div3 who really wants the promotion then we will step down, to try and make things easier for the admins. Being replaced by a team previously not in the league is a joke especially after a season in Div4. Put them there for a season too maybe?
@vocal, good thing the season only lasts for roughly 10-12 weeks, im sure you can survive being in a lower div for that long without losing too much of yer ego right:)? just win those game fair and square and you are on yer way to the higher divs :P Never seen you play or seen any of your results.

I think we’d be editing every few minutes on this thread…There are numerous teams who DESERVE the slot more.
In defence of wotr3 I must say that they played very well against us, even though we didn’t have such a good lineup they did really well and beat us. I have no idea how they’ve played their other games as one pcw shouldn’t mean much. :) But basing my observation on that one game I have no doubt they’ll do fine in div2b. :)
Its not really a question of how they will fair in div2b though or how one pcw went is it :/ ? Its look at the teams who have been stuck in div4/5 and done well against higher div teams from last season. Had the patience to wait for the end of the season for a promotion and proved themselves with good records. Now those teams get told that a new team based on recent performance is going to move in above them? Why dont the admins do a playoff for the spots or something in this situation? Either way i do not think its ethically correct to put a new team straight in div2. Yes, you cant keep everyone happy, we respect that, but at least be fair to the ones who have shown commitment to the league and YOU by sticking it out even with uneventful entire seasons.
Hope none of this is taken personally by any wotr3 members as this is in no way any doubt of your skill level.
wotr3 really played very well against us as well when we played them last week, sick sniper thats for sure outscoring their medic is cool!

We asked the admins to take another look at us because our results show we play at a level closer to an average div 2 clan than the vast majority of div 3 clans. We were fairly content to play in 2 or 3, but we hope to prove the doubters wrong and do well in 2B this season.
@ Descius : There are many very good ‘new’ div 2 clans [discounting wotr3] this season. Placing all of them in div 4 would be unfair to them and the teams in div 4. There may be more ‘deserving’ clans than wotr3, true. I see a few very good teams in div3. I guess (for whatever reason) they didn’t ask for a second look, or didn’t have enough results to convince the admins.
Is it ‘ethically correct’ to leapfrog a div 4 team to div 2, or keep a previously relegated clan in there? In a stable community we could stick closely to proms/relgs, but with such a volatile clan scene the admins just have to do the best they can. And they will sometimes make mistakes, of course.

No your right. Its not right that a div4 team is leapfrogged to div2. I m sure no clan would be happy in such a situation. Which is why TT offered to be demoted for a div3 team if there were any that had not been considered promotion and were interested. Ofcourse I cant speak for other teams, but to be demoted after making a polite gesture and replaced by a new clan is slighty…
I think you have to consider that other clans have sucked it up for 9 weeks to get to this opporunity. To have a new clan placed above them with no request of a playoff match or anything is in all senses of the word wrong. If it were a matter of skill the simple solution is to make clans play for it instead of debating for days with the various clans/admins and then coming to a decision. For the volatile community, surely it makes sense to put a clan who has been through a season and has proved their reliabilty and organisation in the higher division?

Control your e-ego, please. I am just stating that i think NK would be a better candidate to have the div2 spot forfeited by T.T than wotr3. What would be the general purpose of having a comment section if “posting your opinion is meaningless”? I have never seen NK play vs wotr3, but i know where i would place my bet :) Regardless of whether you “care” or not :P
it’s a nice gesture of T.T. but I think there are a few teams that deserve the spot more than wotr3

@ sajh – if you havnt seen us playing then you havent been around much. we played ALMOST EVERY SINGLE team on div2 and some of div1, and we surely deserve to be on 2, there is not a doubt. after the league ends it will be obvious to you aswell.
btw. As far as I know div4c clan Team Impulse has folded, so there should be at least opening for one clan in the waiting list.
@vocal, i have been around since the beta :) still never heard of your jolly group. I mainly pay attention to etf2l though, and some esl. If you competed in any other leagues i wouldnt know about it:P

I never said you didnt deserve to be in div2 or whatever div you want to be in:P I am sure you are the bestestest, so i wish you the best of luck.
@ Descius : You’re right about the problem of putting new clans above established clans, with history in the league. I understand your frustration in being placed below six or so new clans with no etf2l record. I agree that pre-season playoffs for new clans might be a good idea.
Am at work so cant give as full reply as I’d like, ELE – your results aren’t anything amazing, nor enough reason to move another division 2 team down and put you up, and yes I know you’ve had some close games with us etc etc.
wotr3 are a very strong side and have been around for quite some time, that combined with a nice run of results and good performances in officials has seen them raised to division2.
The whole t.t, NK, zt discussion took us admins a good 2 hours or so to finalise last night, infact the moment we finnished was the moment this news post was uploaded, it was not an easy decision and we have tried to our best to make it fair, although decius, you have to remember you did say you guys would be fine in going down a division, nor did you mention that you were bothered in who you were swapped with, your conversation ethics, as based on the irc conversation last night are therefore completely invalid.
I will try my upmost to get the time to respond with a more indepth post later on this evening when I have got home from work.
On a slightly brighter note, this season is massive and is by far the biggest (in sheer numbers) community site and competition site for tf2. If you bare in mind each team has to have a bare minimum of 6 people, thats 1140 members, may I take a moment to thank each individual in taking the time to signing up to our site and participating in the competitions and community that us dirty admins do our upmost to push to new limits. Any constructive feedback will be greatly appreciated.

You and Deneub I believe? :), please don’t make the mistake of thinking I am trying to flame you or push you away I am literally trying to state that your “after acception” flame is a little bit OTT especially the ethics part :P
I just wanted to clear up that I did stipulate it was regarding teams from div3 who may deserve promotion. I’m sorry it seems OTT, just very disappointed and probably losing members due to it.
Someone please explain to me why, when clan TT offered to make way in Div3b for a previous Div4 promoted team, that clan TT’s spot was taken by a team (wotr3) who were not promoted from Div4. This is insane, and makes a mockery of the sporting gesture TT made to amend the problems of clan placement.
Descius: I understand the disappointment, its unfortunate that your members don’t have the staying power to prove their worth and win division 3 (please note there is no real difference between div3a and div3b etc, each of the top teams will compete for promotion – see new promotion / relegation system news in the next few days.
CableGuy: Please take the time to read my response to decius, its only a couple posts up.
In a way I think it’s better that a new clan took the place with confirmed good results/play than division jumping, this way etf2l has stayed more true to their divisions and it hasn’t been unfair for other div4 teams that got promoted to div3 that why them, not us and stuff.
But for the future, we should think a good way to get new teams in, maybe if there is a promotion/relegation cup coming after seasons put new teams there or so, I’m sure the admins will figure out a good way. :)

Its got nothing to do with staying power and you know it. They proved their worth time and time again in division 4 for the entire season and at each level of the cup. Members are angry cause they clearly got fucked over and have no will to continue playing in this league. To take from what I said that I accepted stepping down to anyone is beyond a joke. You proved that by claiming things about a conversation that you werent even witness to.
You can not blame ETF2L for your players wanting to leave your team due to not being in division 2, that is completely down to the individual players personality, this conversation is beginning to turn in to a flame and therefore pointless, if you wish to speak in a mature manor, pm me or any other admin in #etf2l (I will be home from work at 1800GMT)
Interesting time to bring that up. I Believe the majority of posts have been in a completely mature manor until you started jumping to assumptions? I have already taken it up with them , Thanks though. It is not a question of not being in division 2 that has lead to lack of morale. It is simply how this situation has been handled by yourselves.
is a new ETF2L Season 3 Config coming up? or should we stick with the season 2 cfg?
Let’s use some logic here.
1) T.T got put to div2 in the pre-planned divisions -> that was wrong, since it was about division jumping and etf2l not staying true to the divisional plans. (Even DCSB didn’t get to div1 even though they could belong there, it would’ve involved division jumping)
2) In the actual divisions Wotr3 got put ahead of T.T thus correcting the mistake, it’s more fair for other clans that got promoted from div 4 to div 3 too.
Conclusion: If there were no pre divisional team structure T.T would have got nothing to whine about. Maybe that’s something to learn about. :P
Discussion about how new teams should be placed in is another one and I’m repeating myself here, but I’m sure the admins/community will find a way to make it right and working. Introduce new clans to promotion/relegation cup or so. Maybe the idea of ladder discussed? Who knows. :)
And yes, there are other teams too that could make it in div2, wotr3 just had the results to show on their pages and stuff as admins had asked before placing the teams, show your results of pcw & stuff. so they will know how to seed teams.
You have to understand that we are not whinning about not getting to play in div2, BUT about the way the admins have handled this situation. What do we have to learn about ? it was not ourselfs who putted us in division 2 to start with.
Well, I can understand the frustration of T.T., but tbh it’s up to the admins to decide who gets which division spot, and the first listing was just provisory, and it was stated as such.
Some of our team would have liked to play div2 as well, and we could have shown some results to back that, but we’re willing to play whatever division is seen fit for us. We’ll just try to get a promotion the normal way and then maybe play div2 next season.
Tbh imho there are some new clans as well as clans that moved up from div 4 to div 3 that are superior in skill to some clans which have managed to stay in div2 last season, but that’s just the way it is. If there are some empty spots in higher divisions, it’s in the admins discretion which clans to put up there, who has earned it most. And I have to say, wotr3 is no bad choice, they have had some very good games, against us as well (even if we didn’t have our regular lineup).
Sayeh, it was up here on the news post when the “provisional” divisions that these are not final divisions and it is more than likely that teams will be moved around :)

Why are people talking like Div3 is shit. Tbh Div3 is stronger now than it has been in previous seasons! You have T.T, s@w, bR, NK, eLD, KM, ELE, and others. As far as Im concerned being Div3 isnt a bad thing as we’re getting a higher range of skill in the league this season. Its not like there is lack of decent teams.
It was a hard decision because, as mentioned, there are more clans capable of playing in Div2 than we actually have spots for. And Im sorry to people who didnt go up, dont take it as us not thinking your good enough to play there.
