ETF2L S31 Premiership playoffs: Se7en vs SVIFT EU, & Ascent.EU vs Faint Gaming

Se7en vs SVIFT EU

To kick the playoffs off, it’s the old versus the new as the recently-formed Sweden Faint Gaming takes on the most successful team in ETF2L’s history, European Se7en.

While this might look like it will be a routine victory for Se7en, SVIFT EU have a knack for upsets, as their presence in the playoffs is already thanks to their last-minute triumph over third place Cuba Flush Agency Headquarters. SVIFT will be surely looking to keep the momentum going, and it would not be the first time that a fourth placed team is troubling the top seed, like in Season 28 where eventual champions SVIFT had to play 3 maps to get rid of France top5rocket.

Se7en has not played any officials recently, but seeing how the last official between those two teams went, they are looking like strong favourites. While SVIFT had their moments, they ultimately could not deal with the coordination of Se7en and were also missing their clinical execution and Se7en looked in control for almost all of the match.

That was in week two however, and SVIFT are looking like a different team by now. Will they be able to keep their current velocity and squeeze by Se7en, or will the veterans knock them a peg and a bracket down?

Ascent.EU vs Faint Gaming

Next up, it’s last season’s Div 1 winners Cuba Flush Agency Headquarters vs UnitedKingdom ComedyShortsGaming.

S31’s been one to remember for Ascent.EU, whose towering lineup of established gamers saw out the regular season in style. Originally starting out as a revival of Sauna Slayers with Finland amppis at the head, the team’s lost just two maps to date: a close defeat to SVIFT on Granary, and a 4-1 loss to Se7en on Sunshine.

It’s been a slightly different story for Faint. Though Sweden alle et al began their first season together in the Prem with two successive victories, they then lost three on the trot against Se7en, SVIFT and their opponents tonight.

Will Ascent continue climbing through the rankings? Or will Faint deliver the bold performances we know their players are capable of?

Season 31 powered by Copenhagen Games & STN.tf Week 7: Faint Gaming vs. SVIFT EU

Date November 8, 2018

Faint Gaming vs. SVIFT EU

The final match of the regular season is upon us, and what a match it is ! SVIFT EU and Faint Gaming will battle it out in the hopes of reaching playoffs on the unpredictable Prolands and the classic Process.

It’s do or die for SVIFT EU, as nothing other than an almost-total victory will grant them access to the playoffs. Having recently picked up Ombrack, the team did not manage to seal the deal last week against Ora Elektro as that game ended in a draw. They did win Prolands during that however, so this good performance might be seen as an indicative of what they can do on this reworked staple.

Faint are looking like the favorites right now, due to having almost twice as many points as their opponent, but they have not played since week 4, and were in a streak of lost officials against Se7en and Ascent.EU. Now, SVIFT EU is a far different team but Faint’s might not be in the best possible shape compared to a few weeks ago. They still need to be careful as well, as while they cannot drop out of playoffs, they can fall down to the 4th place

So, will SVIFT EU walk home with a hard-earned playoff spot, or is their opponents’ lack of form an elaborate feint ? Tune in tonight to find out !

Season 31 powered by Copenhagen Games & STN.tf Week 7: Ora Elektro vs. wer das liest ist doof

Date November 7, 2018

Ora Elektro vs. wer das liest ist doof

This is it, the first match of the final week is upon us. Two teams enter, only one of them will make playoffs ! Ora and WDLID are tied with 5 points, and are only one point away from SVIFT, who are occupying the last playoff spot. A dominant victory from either of the team would make a playoff appearance that much sure as SVIFT would have to defeat Faint to stay in the race, while a tie would help SVIFT, who would only need 3 points to qualify.

Wer das liest ist doof had a rough start, but that was before enough dropping out to put my academic career to shame happened. Despite them failing to obtain a single point, they had a very good showing against Se7en last week so Honey and his homies will be looking to keep the momentum going.

Ora Elektro, after being quite discrete the previous weeks came back on Monday against SVIFT. It looked like their hiatus was put to good use as they managed to win Sunshine very convincingly, but SVIFT operated a speedy recovery and managed to defeat them on Prolands.

So, will the old guard beat the new kids on the block on the staple maps that are Badlands and Process ? Or will they pass the torch to this not-so-new squad ? Tune in to find out !
