Here we go again. We’re proud to announce that the signups for Season 15 powered by BlackOut Gaming are now officially open!

>>> Sign up now! <<<

Sign-up process

Make sure to choose your desired division when signing up. If you created a new team or feel you can jump a division, feel free to apply for the division you believe you deserve you should be in. To prove you are capable of the division you applied for, we require you to submit screenshots of results from your recent practice matches or tournaments where you scored decent results against teams that play on the level you aim for. The quantity is not the most important factor in this case, it’s more of a helpful measure for us to figure out if your team will be able to keep up with the pace. There is no magical, minimum or maximum number of screenshots that you have to submit.

Please note that the success of your request also strongly depends on the free slots in the division you aim for. Established teams will be favoured over new teams or teams that request to jump a division. The screenshots have to be uploaded to an online image storage service (for example, you can use imgur or Dropbox). Keep in mind that if you opt for a zipped archives with tons of pictures attached to an email, your application will be ignored. Keep it clean.

If you are applying for Division 6 (which is our entry division), you do not have to provide any proof that you are capable of playing at that level. This only applies to Division 5 or higher.

Please send your application to [email protected]. The division assignment request has to include the following information in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will be ignored!

  • Do not use HTML in your eMail. If you want to add a link, just paste the link in the eMail as you would enter it in your browser.
  • Team name
  • Team link on ETF2L.org
  • Division you apply for
  • Link to the online photo album
  • Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the division you applied for (optional)

Highlander Season 4: Catch-Up Week Reminder

Date April 17, 2013

Catch-up Week and Wildcards

The Catch-Up Week for Season 4 begins this Sunday and the final deadline for all Season 4 results is next Sunday (April 28th). Any main Season matches without a result by April 29th will be nullified, with neither team receiving any points.

Playoffs and Tiebreakers will commence after the Catch-Up Week finishes. Groups with established ties will receive Tiebreaker fixtures earlier, as soon as the remaining matches can no longer affect the tied teams.

Teams can still use their wildcards up until this Friday, April 19th. Wildcards used during this Week will extend the results deadline by one week only – until the end of the Catch-Up Week. Any wildcarded matches without a default date will be issued one on Friday, and wildcards will be locked for the remainder of the Season.

Highlander Season 4 powered by BlackOut Gaming: Parrot Gapers vs SNSD, colony vs DAROUTOUTOU and 27 vs Legolas’ Wrath

Parrot Gapers vs SNSD

Even though there are 3 matches happening tonight at the same time, this is the one we are probably all looking forward to the most. With how things have gone so far in this season, European PG vs South Korea SNSD match could very well decide who goes into the Premiership playoffs as 1st seed and thus only having to play the Grand Finale. This match is a rematch of last season’s final and is expected by many to be this season’s final as well. That is just one of the reasons why you should all be staring intently at your computer screens tonight to see who has figured out how to beat the other.

European Parrot Gapers are currently listed second in the tables, tied with Finland colony. Last season, they suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss on koth_lakeside against tonight’s opponent and they will be wanting to turn this around. Today, as usual, they will enter the stadium with their battle call “Gapers gonna gape” and are looking to give South Korea SNSD a beating.

South Korea SNSD on the other hand boast a completely unbeaten record (as per usual) in this season so far, not dropping a single point, which gives them a 4-point lead over their opponents. Winning tonight could potentially give them a very unassailable position on top of the league. Players on the opposing side will have to watch their heads as the Swedish supersniper Sweden TviQ is looking for those pixels to click on – and he very rarely misses.

Season 14 powered by Twitch – Award polls

Now the main meat of the season and the play-off dessert are over, all that remains are the after-dinner mints and a much larger bill than you were expecting. The ETF2L Season awards have been around for as long as anyone can remember and there’s a reason why; people actually seem to take them seriously. Below are the nominations for every category:

Note: Best player of the season is substantially different than Carry of the season. CotS is team-dependant and the nominated player strongly influenced their standing, whereas player of the season is independent of team and is given to the most skilled player.

Every voter gets two votes for caster of the season and one vote for everything else.

Edit: For clarification, since there seems to be quite a few people confused about how the nominees for the Season 14 powered by Twitch awards have been decided. We did not randomly select whoever we deemed suitable for said awards or anything like that. In fact ETF2L was pretty much excluded in the whole nominee deciding process, all we did was relay the awards we wanted to Pirate Radio. They then chose a panel of 18 players, mainly from the Premier Division, to decide the nominees for each award. The top3 (and in some cases top4 in case of a tie between two or more players) then made it into the polls for the awards. You can watch the whole award show in the following video:

The polls will probably be open until there are clear winners for each award or until there are only very few votes per day rolling in or until the end of the Season 15 signups.
