Previously we only announced dates for seasons when the announcement post was made. From this post on we are planning on having quarterly news posts stating the provisional schedule with the dates for the upcoming seasons over the next 6 months these posts will be posted around the first of January, April, July and October. There is also a google calendar with all this information that can be viewed here, or under the league tab.

These posts will only contain provisional dates for 6v6 and HL seasons and will not include most cups as these are usually not planned far ahead and are subject to significant schedule changes far closer to the announcement. As these dates will be provisional they are not final and while they are not expected to change significantly more concrete dates will be published in a seasons announcement post or home page.

At the end of a tight season, Politically correct pander have emerged as second seed after a tight series against habitual champions Se7en. Their reward is a best of three versus Arctic Foxes, a team that’s looked even better at times than the squad that finished runners up last season. The fact that these two split their series during the main season makes this an enticing match to watch, so don’t miss this great display of EU TF2 hosted by the capable hands of gemm, accompanied by the voices of zeFrosty and Dolly.

On their seamless transition back to the top of ETF2L prem, LEGO have drawn Se7en in the first round of playoffs. LEGO experienced some pretty rocky results vs the other top teams towards the end of the season, and the whipping they recieved at the hands of Se7en in week 4 spell trouble for the supposedly Danish team.

However, the European juggernauts that are their opponents displayed an uncharacteristic show of weakness versus adysky‘s unexpectedly strong squad, dropping the ball on Granary with a 5-4 defeat. Can this be the confidence booster LEGO needs?

ETF2L’s stance on the fixture Arctic Foxes vs. LEGO

The above mentioned game has stirred up passionate discussions amongst the competitive community this week. Premiership team and playoff participants Arctic Foxes had forfeited their match against LEGO, leaving Unexpected no chance to book their ticket in the Season 27 playoffs.
The ETF2L staffmembers have investigated whether this default has been given with malicious intentions and came to the conclusion that there is no proof that Arctic Foxes forfeited the match in order to keep unexpected out of the playoffs. After talking to various members of both teams and other premiership players we are under the impression that this was the result of many unfortunate circumstances.
The timing of a defaulted match could not be less fortunate and we are not happy the regular season ends with a weird feeling in our stomachs.
But we have to see the bigger picture and make decisions based on facts; not rumours, hunches or gut feelings. This is also why we took our time make sure he have investigated all angles of this matter.
Regarding the statement of a teammember of Arctic Foxes on a friend’s stream about intending to convince his team to default, we have reason to believe that the desire of this player ultimately did not lead to the forfeit.
However, we are very concerned about this and will look into possibilities to change our rules in order to punish this kind of behavior in the future. Under no circumstances do we support intentions to circumvent our rules or the common sense of sportsmanship.
We all play this game in order to have fun while competing at the highest level possible. We will oppose anyone who tries to ruin or negatively influence this experience for other players.

Staff changes

We are sad to announce that our friend Crasp is leaving our ranks due to lack of time. He has been inactive for a while and wants to make room for more motivated members to make an impact.

As these players have not been caught cheating by our staff, their match results are not affected.

Anti-Cheat Staff Applications

The AC staff is recruiting again. We’re looking for individuals who want to make a difference and better the experience for all players of the league. We also encourage users that have already attempted applying for AC in the past to reapply.

AC members need to be trustable and have a good sense of morality, as well as being excited by the detective work and the technical aspects of the source engine that comes with demo viewing and cheats and such. It’s also important to avoid having bias and be respectful of the democratic process on voting.

Please don’t be intimidated to apply, as it’s a position that you can really only improve on with real experience. As Anti-Cheat is such a closed field, applicants aren’t required to have extensive experience to be considered. Feel free to contact us in IRC with !acrequest if you have any questions.

Check these guidelines for a more in-depth description of the application process. If you don’t fill out the application properly, we will likely deny your application. Promising candidates with an extensive application will be interviewed and welcomed to staff.

Welcome everyone to the conclusion of the 27th season of ETF2L 6v6 for open, low, mid, high and premiership.

We hope you enjoyed the matches, and for the teams that made it through, congratulations.

All tiers will have playoffs, all playoff matches will be using the Map Elimination system. Note that all dates are estimates and teams are able to negotiate other days by scheduling with their opponents.

If you find yourself on the list of these teams expect an admin to add you and request your availability, if there is no information or insufficient information given we will have to decide your match dates for you. Keep in mind that we will try and accommodate both teams, but the match date may still vary from your provided days, if for example none of the days match with your opponent, but your opponent offered more days than you did. Deadlines listed for the matches are flexible and may be changed in certain situations if admins are contacted about allowing extensions on these.

Premiership

For the Premiership Tier, we are going with the double elimination stage.

Matches:

Match 1: Se7en vs LEGO

Match 2: Politically correct pander vs Arctic Foxes

The losers of these matches will play each other in Lower Bracket Round 1, while the winners of these matches advance to the Higher Bracket finals and play against each other.

There is no specific time period to play these Premiership matches, thus the teams mentioned above may decide on the dates for these matches as they want. However, the Premiership grand finals must be played by 23rd of July.

High

For the High Tier we’re going with 6 teams in the playoffs with single elimination.
