I simply dont get how it could be interesting to read a story while NOT playing but simply watching your characters attacking like in a mmo.
I just cant understand the appeal of this genre; same reason why I dont enjoy shit like mass effect at all.

I enjoy the diablo/torchlight style :p

I love Dragon Age!

If it had the co-op play that Borderlands has, it would be the best game I’ve ever played.

Heh, I find it tad ironic since diablo/torchlight gameplay reminds me a mmorpg’s much more due to the similar endless grinding both gametypes are built upon. I do enjoy at time the mindless clicking through tons of monster inside the gfxporn world of torchlight, but at the same time crave more for the more delicate story-type game with actually much deeper gameplay so, yeah, gonna be DA’s bitch on this one.

On the matter of missing coop however I must disagree with the apparent prevailing consensus. I don’t really see how this kind of gameplay would be able to suit a coop game since I doubt most coopers search for a game in which to cooperate in a very tactical and quite slow way, never forgetting the constant pausing. Hell, I wouldn’t want to play something akin to that, and I’m enjoying the DA’s way immensely. Borderlands however has little depth and is so much more suitable for coop. Unlike DA it also loses most of its charm when played alone, so, uh, yeah.

RPG with a story and actuall choices that makes a difference. Yeah, really shit.

I find it weired how people call Diablo and Torchlight rpg’s without laughing. I’m not saying they are bad games, god no. But they are NOT rpgs. Just some hack’n’slash massacre.

The most intresting part of Dragon Age is the choices. Exampe: you find an ancient and sacred relic (witch can do almost anything) with a help of monk. He wants to tell the whole world about it, while some of your companions want to stop him. I chose throwing a knife to the back of the monks head. Can you tell me I was evil/wrong/whatever? There is no good or bad in this game. Thats what I love. And the story… It’s just so complicated, and imersive…

well storylines ask you to play along, so backstabbing your mother wont really do good.

You telling me I’m not allowed to roleplay making the choice of going on a massive hack n slash rampage? /goes to get his Flamebellow Balrog Sword

Hm?

mmm the choices are nice, but you have to play it through like 3 times to get all of them done… and hell, the persuade/intimidate skills are awesome, no more fighting needed :D
