If kids can’t play their computer games they are going to go out and shoot somebody through boredom.
Doubt it’ll happen anyway. Just the current government trying to rial up support by being seen to attempt drastic change to better the majority.
I know shit about german politics but I’m fairly confident it won’t make it through parliament.

This ban isnt enforceable OR warranted, which means it’s a pointless ban :x
all germans should team up and dress up like tf2 classes and kill everyone wanting to get the games banned

The reasoning behind this (and it actually makes sense) is that games are interactive and movies/books/music aren’t.
Therefore games tend to “suck” you in more than movies.
That completely depends on the movie and the games, your personality, your feelings at the moment, etc.
While playing in pubs, for example, TF2 does not “suck me in”, as I don’t care what happens, and i’m even paying more attention to the music I have playing in the background.
While watching some movies with awesome acting/story/action, like The Last King of Scotland, The Dark Knight, Sin City, Lost, etc, I’m tottaly “there”…
The only thing where games really suck more of you is in time, usually…
Anyway, whatever the reason is, it’s wrong and stupid… I guess that deputies have no clue about psychologie… Because, actually, violent games can be a way of escape, let out your anger in a harmless way to society, have fun, etc…
Moving to the NL ftw tbh…if not for those damn dutch people everywhere…
On a more serious note though, this is never gonna happen, and if it does I personally couldn’t care less- most games have to be imported anyway because they’re either dubbed or censored to hell and I can still do whatever the fuck I want at home so….meh.
Hurt the economy even more, go on.

But think about HEAVY MUSIC. It is all about killing and fighting! Imagine what that must do to you brains. And if not for the listener brains, but to those who write the lyrics. Imo all violent music should be banned.
Kind of amusing that even though they can’t enforce the age restriction they think they’ll be able to enforce a ban.

i’m lucky to be a swiss. here u hear every day about the “danger of killergames”.
german games can only be bought by adults, german games are cut and no they want to set these games equal with child pornography.
this is really sick in my eyes. a lot of films are much more cruel than first-person-shooters…
My oppinion is, that some politicians just needed votes!
