1 million dollars to launch a game , it’s not very expensive for valve.
I’m pretty sure that the 45000 people registered at etf2l gave more than 1million to valve :P

Makes sense, Dota was built as an esports title, not a public game, that’s why Its Invite only too. The comp scene behind it will overshadow tf2s within weeks of release (you’ll probably see more people quit tf2 for dota than did for brink) .
As someone mentioned, they’ll get more than their money back when they release the game, not to mention ad revenue for the stream which will probably break 100, 000 viewers.
I just hope for dota fans that valve dont ruin their game like they do to ours :p
I mad that I’ll never get $1,000,000 for playing a game when it would be one of my most favorite things ever
