If TF2 had stopped releasing new modes, maps and unlocks i’d have stopped playing public tf2 ages, all the unlocks are just an extra bit of fun to the game, it keeps the pubbers interested and captivated and doesnt affect the comp community, stop whineing.
If people hate them *that* much then admins can easily enable a whitelist on their public server, easys.
