So this isn’t speciffically about tf2 but kind of related to it.
So for the past year or so ive been having a huge dilemma wether I like ranged or melee?
In basically every game, for example should I play scout&sniper or soldier( I even made a movie how I switched to soldier http://youtu.be/gMpTwHA5Gw0?hd=1 but now I kinda feel like playing scout and sniper again)
The same goes with every game, should I play a bow man or a sword swinger guy, cause I keep switching between them both and like them both but i can’t decide witch i like best so I could improve on that specific thing or class or whatever because if I keep constantly switching and changing my play style I wont get to anywhere, I will still be as shit as I was before the only difference is that im shit with an other class now.
For example i plai league of legends, wow and tf2
about a month ago i played paladin in wow, melee champs in lol and soldier in tf2(i still do play soldier, but im having second thoughts)
Now i play ranged carries in LoL as i did bout 3 months ago, level a hunter in wow as i did about 2 months ago, still play soldier tho
Idk what it is about me, i kinda think that i need to focus on ONE thing to be good at it, i mean it is kinda true isn’t it?
Also i kind of consider soldier a melee class in a way as roamer you rocketjump on top of everything and blast them with you rawkets.
Idk if it made any sense, I hope it did cause it just bothers me too much and I thought I would make a post to maybe get some help? Like what made you choose that specific thing and what not?

I know exactly what you mean, for years I’ve had the same problem. WoW etc.. I’de grind a caster, damn i want to be a warrior, damn caster, damn dark caster. Grind shit tons up then get bored.
Well my friend the answer is perfectly simple. Do what I did.

Heal
Well healing just isnt the thing for me, one thing is certain, i know that i want to do loads of dmg. Sniper is kinda what im looking for, but on the other hand i dont really enjoy scout, i enjoy sniper, alot but i dont think there is a team that wants someone who plays only sniper, thus i play soldier, medicore dmg and airshots make my day but now im kind of going like, damn, i really want to play as sniper.
i mean i could try heal but ive never really played it much since ive always had the feeling that healing isnt for me, idk.
at least thats what im thinking now, that might change in a few weeks, fuuuuuuuuuuu…

Play CS/CS:S/COD and go full time sniper. If that’s your problem then there’s nothing else you can do other than play solider or scout and try and get your team to play sniper friendly maps where it is possible to switch as much as possible.

just nuke
finding a team as soldier is also probably easier… There are some soldiers that do go sniper, Jukebox for example. I did so myself for a short bit during my time as a soldier and it works, but you’d have to be really skilled at sniper to make it worth it, and you need a skilled soldier partner that can handle the soldier business while you’re gone etc. I’d say continue with soldier. Get a team, and work it from there. Some sort of compromise is probably gonna happen for you to offclass sniper once in a while :).
main pyro

look at it this way,
playing soldier is a challenge.Make a mistake and you die :D
Good joke.
If you want to talk about the classes and their playstyle in an MMO way, they’d go something like:
Soldier = 2H warrior: charge the gap, tank damage and go nuts on the keyboard to do damage. Swing in their general direction/ground and kill stuff.
Scout = rogue/ranger: paper survivability, you will lose if you run into a group of people like an idiot but you are good at ganking or ambushing.
Demo = op caster: drops aoe nukes everywhere making babies cry, but manageable up close and without support
Medic = healer: don’t play this unless you are a girl who wants to be carried for phat loot
If you want to switch out for sniper, pick soldier or scout depending on what playstyle you like. If you can’t decide, roll a dice or something, but stick with one class as a main! Don’t be a multiclassing noob who is div 4 at everything.

xD
Mix/pub a lot if you have a desire to play more classes. Its all about having fun.
Roll a Druid in WoW and you can be ranged Caster DPS, Healer, Melee DPS or a Tank.
In LoL you should learn a one hero good and then switch and a learn a new one, you basicly have to have several heroes what you can play good. So in this game I do not see this as an issue.
In TF2 I can say that I know how it is with the class choosing, since you will be dropped in a class slot in peoples minds fairly easily. I changed from Medic to Scout when I moved up from div6 to div3 and from scout to soldier when I moved up from div3 to div2-1. For me it has been always just to play what team needs and I think my self as a multiclasser, though everyone knows me as a soldier. But in here I suggest that you stay as on one class and play much as possible with the chosen class. I figure out new stuff with the soldier still almost all the time and I like that fuzzy feeling what I get when I have that ‘heureka!’ moment even with the smallest things.
