Pretty sure you’re criminalizing yourself by going against the law.
Yes, but why should the law tell me what to do with my own body – yes put it there to protect others but if I want to do something to myself that only effects myself I’m going to do it regardless.

Do I really have to go about and explain this?
please do.

Benefits of Cannabis for mankind :
– Medicine
I’m not even going to bother googling to reinforce this as it’s piss easy to find. Cannabis has many medical properties along with the fact that it’s easy to produce (it can be grown almost everywhere) make this a strong benefit.
– Food
Cannabis seeds are very nutricious.
– Clothing
Fibers from the plant are strong and durable making it a good source for clothing.
– Paper
Paper made from hemp fibers is stronger and will last longer than paper made from wood.
– Fuel
Hemp seeds can be used to create biofuel just like seeds from many other plants can be used to do this.
No single natural occuring resource is as beneficial to man kind as cannabis.
I can come up with source material that backs all of this up. On top of that, production of cannabis is carbon neutral and thus has no harmfull effects on the enviroment.
So give me one reason why this plant should be illegal.

Police time is wasted, the courts full, the prisons overcrowded; over 80% of drug convictions are for cannabis.
No serious research can be conducted on the therapeutic uses of cannabis.
People who are fined and unable to pay are locked up.(again a waste of tax payers money)
Prison sentences even for continual possession offences lead to family break-ups and all the problems associated with imprisonment.
Many people are prohibited from a beneficial medicine; doctors cannot prescribe cannabis.
The Government receives no revenue. The criminals make all the profits.
Taxation
Encouragement of responsible use
Gateway drug hypothesis
Healthier methods of use
Health standards of cannabis
its fucking awesome
I like the idea that some ultra advanced and bored intellectual beings created this all so they can tune in and watch whatever there’s going on here.. Like a tv serie that continues for ever evolving out of random events and is therefore as exciting as hell because anything can happen.
I know… please don’t hit me.
I should patent this for future purpose :)

Isn’t there a movie about this already? If so, prior art :P

Not a random person, also is it ok for you to put anything in your body? Our society is no where near perfect, but it is really not the lack of weed that makes it so, how about the vast inequalities between rich and poor, the unfair education system, massive overspending, environmental issues, wars over resources (more wars over water and such than religious wars btw), still racist/sexual ideas in society? Any of those more important that an illegal substance?
Completely agree. But we’re talking about the issue of war on drugs here. There are multiple issues, one worse than the other… That doesn’t mean we can’t focus on different problems at the same time. What are you trying to say? I don’t understand. Also, watch one of the various documentaries about the US war on drugs, it’s quite shocking how far the repercussions go. Also, what I’ve been trying to do from the start is discuss this topic from a more foundational/principle level. If you get to that level (once again: one should be able to do with his body what he wants, have freedom to do what he wants without inflicting harm on others, etc) then what naturally emerges is an argument against racism and sexism for instance.

Thing is though, drugs have repercussions. They don’t just affect the user. They affect the user’s family, friends, the people that some users attack/steal from in order to pay for the drugs/whilst high from the drugs.
Let’s ban life so that nobody can get harmed ever. Your arguments are really scary, almost pleading for an Orwellian totalitarianist society. Utopia where everybody is 100% free from harm and sadness does not exist and cannot exist.
Quoted from Ghostface
The only people who want drugs legalised are the ones who use them.
That can only deserve a “lol”
Anyone else who considers that drugs are actually good are in it “because it’d solve the problems”.
Drugs aren’t “good”. What a ridiculous concept. They aren’t bad either. They’re drugs. That’s it.
But it doesn’t really solve any problem at all. The difference is you won’t be locked up for abusing. [… insert scaremongering story with loads of stupid assumptions based on a standard stereotype of a drug addict …] Which will be supplied by companies owned by politicians.
Look if that average Joe fucks himself up then that’s his own responsibility. I really would rather refrain from making the alcohol and tobacco analogies because its SO FUCKING OLD AND OVERUSED, but apparantly people still need to be told that alcohol has been socially accepted for ages and society doesn’t demolish itself because of it, even though there are loads of alcohol addicts who have serious mental or physical problems. There will always be people who don’t know how what moderation is, be it with tobacco, alcohol, bad food, unlawful behavior, or “drugs”.
Then there’s the other effect that can benefit certain people who take advantage of druggies. If people are high, naturally, they’re stupid(they’re not stupid because they take the drug, even though the kind of are, they’re stupid because they’re ON the drug. mental effect), which means that they’ll be even EASIER to manipulate by the people who supposedly want their good, or not. A stupid society is very easy to make believe. Just think of how many people can take advantage of this. Politicians, bigtime corporations, hell.. even your average salesperson. Or that guy who calls you and asks you if you’re interested in buying a dictionary.
I’m actually thinking about putting this bit on my steamprofile. Holy fuck dude, that shit is epic. I’ll have whatever you’ve been smoking!

heard of this lil thing called sharia? you should check it out.
I was expecting this type of retort and already made up a simple analogy for that: If I go to a fancy restaurant and order a steak, and the stake is badly cooked, and I go complain to the chef, does it make sense if he says: “Yeah but look at McDonalds, how’s that for crappy meat?” Meaning to say: not a valid excuse, look at yourself first. Because the restaurant is “fancy” (“”””civilised””””) doesn’t mean they can get away with anything just because they have the made up moral superiority. Won’t reply to the rest of your offtopic stuff because you left the conversation already anyway.

These 2 quotes sum it up perfectly.
