I’d wanna buy 120hz one and I found 2 good for me – LG W2363D and Samsung 2233rz. Can’t afford something more expensive. LG is newer, bigger and slightly more expensive but I can’t decide what to get because I don’t know:
-Which aspect ratio is better; 16:10 samsung or 16:9 lg (I use PC mostly for gaming and internetz)
-If higher resolution in LG sacrifices big amount of fps (cause I don’t upgrade my pc very often and I want every spec to last as much as possible)
-Which one have better image quality
hardware nerds gogogo! (:

I’d assume a higher res means less fps in some cases, and I think that with a 130hz monitor you’d want.to be hitting 240 fps for an ultra smooth game?
But maybe someone with better knowledge will pop in, but if u can’t get 240 you’d have to lower res anyway.
16:9 is better than 16:10 for gaming due to a bigger fov. I think the newer 120hz lcd’s have better panels, atleast the benq one feels better than my vx2268wm which has the same panel as the samsung one. Also, aiming on a bigger screen can be easier.
Im using the Benq xl2410t and i can definitely recommend it. Also comes with a Zowie EC1.

Too expensive in my country.
I have the 2233rz and I like it don’t really have anything to compare it to though. My last monitor was a shitty 19″ 4:3 Dell :P. Have had no problems at all. Only thing I was disappointed about when I bought it was the lack of HDMI port (it’s not like I have any HDMI devices anyway so).
Get LG since it has the “2nd generation” LCD panel on it. I had Samsung first but I sold it away since I abought newer Acer to replace it. And yes, if you want to get the full smoots gaming out from 120hz panels, you should have the steady 240fps in TF2. Though 120fps in game is fine, 240fps is just even more smoother and it’s quite easy to hit the 240fps mark with FPS config’s ect.
I use Phenom II x3 720 and i’m gonna buy GF GTX 560ti along with new monitor, wil it do 240fps with highfps config @ 1920 × 1080?
(imo yes but who knows if they add tons of new hats)

I doubt it being able to do 240fps, since the new gen i5’s can’t do it either. A 2500k oc’d to over 4 ghz won’t get stable 240fps, atleast not on w7.

whoot ? are they so shitty CPU’s ?
I have the old i7 920 2.66ghz @ 4.1ghz and i can get almost up to 400fps stable with few maps as a exeption and by using chris dx9 config. GTX295 as a graphics card.

my phenom x4 940 @ 4.2GHz / 260GTX (overclocked ~150% w/ voltmod) pulls 250 stable. are the i5s really that bad?

Hey brah, I’d just like to inform you that you are talking a load of sheet. I get ~300fps+ with my PC:
i5 750 w/ 3GHz OC
Radeon 4850 512MB
With a slightly modified version of dx9frames that is heavier than stock. I can probably get 500fps+ with maxframes.
yeah it did sound bit weird for me too since when im standing in respawn with the dx9 configs and fps unlocked im rolling around 800-1000fps and during middle fights ranging from 400 -> 800fps.
