Can anyone make sense of this? I ain’t no computer geek
Throw in 192.168.2.1 in your browser.
You should get into the menu of your router, if not, though luck.
Once your in, click stuff, but not change anything, to find out what type and brand router you got, and then google how to disable/block ports with the specific router you have.

Belkin firmware is notoriously crap. I have no idea how you’d do it in your interface, but try giving him a static IP, then apply a rate of 1/3 your max throughput (both up and down), and apply a ceiling of 1/2. Do it by MAC. If he fucks about with that, start ARP binding.

here i will meekly state that i am honestly rubbish with techie stuff…
any “simplified” instructions? because i have no clue whats all that…
I can’t give you ‘click this, click that’ instructions, because I have no idea of your interface.

I’ll get a couple of screenshots of the interface, and hopefully you can slowly guide me to ridding my horrendous roommate and his torrents :P
Phone/contact Belkin, they offered (at least they used to) life time support on their products, one of their advisor’s may talk you through it (or email you step by step instructions)
http://en-uk-support.belkin.com/app/answers/contact_support/a_id/2467
or just search their knowledge base
