Hey lads, I’m working on a project about gaming gear and I would like to know the tastes of the TF2 community about mousepads, mices and keyboards.
Mousepads: Do you prefer “square” surfaces (like 32×27) or “panoramic” (e.g. 32×23)
Mices: Optical or laser, DPIs?, polling rate?, shape
Keyboards: Mechanic, classic shape (like http://steelseries.com/products/keyboards/steelseries-6gv2) or something like http://www.syswer.com/images/logitech_g15_gaming_keyboard.jpg
Thanks in advance.

Rectangular pads, ambidextrous mice with 500-1000hz polling rates (dpi and optical/laser is a non-issue as long as it works. That means no noticeable acceleration and no extreme prediction). On the fly dpi switching and macro’s I’m not interested in. Good tracking on all pad types is a must. As for keyboards the way to go are basic mechanical keyboards with high quality keycaps that don’t wear off and the option to choose between different (cherry) switch types.

Mousepads: “panoramic”
Mices: optical, 500hz, 1800dpi, mx518 shape
Keyboards: classic shape
Mousepads: Panoramic
Mouse: Optical, 450/900/1800dpi, 500mhz+ polling, palm grip shape
Keyboards: Mechanic, classic shape
Mousepads: large, cloth, panoramic. this is on top of my deskpad. a larger 900mm pad. (mionix alioth 400 and a boogiebug)
Mice: symmetrical, 500dpi, laser, 1000hz (steelseries xai)
Keyboard: 3/4 length keyboard with half height keys; it gives me more space on the desk for my low sense. (roccat arvo)

Panoramic mousepads are preferable, I prefer large cloth pads.
Not sure about optical or laser, mice who fits your hand and feels natrual are very good. Should glide smooth and dont have prediction / accel (or adjustable accel etc). (edit: 500-1000 hz + 1800 dpi is what I prefer)
Keyboards without shiny lights or flashy screens is preferable. I value good response time. Havent tried a mechanical keyboard yet.

Mousepads: panoramic (Large mousemats like corepad :D) or just generlly big
Mices: i don’t really care about optical or laser aslong i like its shape and not buggy :P
Keyboards: i guess how it looks :P (havent tried a mechinal yet would love to tho)
Mousepad: Cheap “square” one for me
Mouse: Anything intellimouse like (so cheap)
Keyboard: Old style mechanical would be nice but cheapest, most food-clogged shit dell one you can get does the job ^^

Can only comment on the mousepads because thats the only one where Ive tried them all, but Panoramic is better.
