expecting usability from apple is like expecting a fruity flavour whilst stuffing your face with your neighbour’s dog’s feces
apple have crippled the shit out of every device they have ever produced simply so that they can reimplement things they took out earlier as a ‘feature’ later on
so basically current Ipad owners got scammed

This updating after about a year idea is what Apple do with all of their products. If someone is idiotic enough to buy an iPad without doing sufficient research (i.e. Finding out a new one will be released a year later) then they deserve to be fucked over.

Fixed.

Apple products are cool because they work. Android on the other hand is so undone. Hardly any application runs bug-free or as good as the iOS one. At least androids cel-phone OS in it’s countless revision and I doubt the first tablet version will be any better. Don’t let me start on the most important thinks usability and runtime.. the IPad2 looks excellent and will be find their customers easily :>

wat
compare the quality of the apps and the systems to each other. I constantly run into problems with my android phone while apples system just works. This obviously has to do with the multiple configurations of the devices tho. Not that it bothers *me* that much (because android has many favours) but I can clearly see that causal customers doesn’t want to constantly test, optimize and update their device to get something working. The last thing I would want to have is a tablet featuring the some difficulties so I rather would get the IPad2.

right… Poor stereotyping. And why should a phone be over complicated anyway?

it happens only if you start to root your device.
if you dont root and everything is stock it just works :D
thats why my Desire HD got no Custom ROM cos you have to tinkering all the time if you got a custom ROM

@norris, regarding “bad android tablets”:

also gimpfen get your facts straight, rooting has nothing to do with it at all. There are devices that are shit without rooting but great when rooted, and if you install custom ROMs then you’re not a customer that expects everything to work flawlessly anyway – in fact, there are plenty of custom ROMs that are even more stable than stock stuff.

I’m comparing as you say, and I have no problems with my android phone for everything I use it for. But you are probably somewhat correct when referring to fragmentation of android & devices, and on top of that, the option of the carrier to add their own bloat onto the device – this doesn’t help.
However, with that said, android devices typically offer a much higher degree of flexibility – whether it is hardware or software. It’s up to an individual whether or not they want that, or if they would rather have a closed system (apple).
I don’t know what you mean by “test and optimise” – unless you are referring to people using custom roms. And updates – Really?
